I wouldn't necessarily put it past Trump, but if it happens there will be all that much more pressure on Congress to impeach.

Trump is not well. Dementia? How can he not know to not say these things? His office plans out a strategy to deal with the fall out of firing Comey and then he decides on a whim to contradict them.
