The left is losing it shit huh? and tear itself down after this one.

They won't control the senate, house....or president correct? +1 judge vote. ....and they lost to a political outsider.

The interesting part voting a billionaire in as a outsider is ludicrous.

The whole thing is ludicrous.

The democrats will be fine. This is Hillary's last hurrah if she loses, so they will have fresh faces to challenge going forward. Plus voters for change not getting it or not getting the change they want.

The whole notion of the map going red or blue in the short term is somewhat overplayed. The reasons Trump is scary are first, his demeanor and what that could mean diplomatically, and second, that he managed to get this many votes with this campaign. Those problems are far bigger than democrat or republican.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Yeah, Trump also doesn't have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

Would Sanders have been crushed? or did all the sander's voters hurt Hilary then?

I'm really impressed that Evan McMullin managed to get 25% of the Utah vote (that's the current count, anyways) for his "no one gets 270" plan. Has anyone in recent history done something similar, or is this a sort of first (that could be used as inspiration for an even bigger similar attempt in the future)?

Really tough to call. He may well have gotten a bunch of votes Hillary lost, but failed to connect and win a bunch of the votes she got.

Plus who knows what the scandals if any would have been with Bernie?

Not surprised. Canada is somewhat sane. Somewhat.

5 years of PolSci and History and this is the most fucked up election I can ever remember; it's ending terribly.

Bernie—and I say this despite him not being my first choice—was probably one of the best candidates the Dems could have chosen to run against Trump. They were well matched; Bernie shared a lot of Trump's appeal to disaffected white voters. He was an anti-establishment candidate, he didn't have Hillary's baggage, and the red scare probably wouldn't have been as big a drawback as people assumed. (I say this because of the surprising number of traditional, blue-collar Republicans who preferred Bernie to Trump.) And Trump still would have motivated the left to vote against him even if Bernie didn't inspire them.

There are definitely some Bernie supporters who went for Trump or third parties, but these were people who were never going to vote for Hillary. So no, Sanders voters didn't hurt Hillary. Hillary's baggage and reputation (warranted or not) hurt Hillary.

People are talking about Gary Johnson as a factor, but I'm not convinced he made a difference. The vast majority of Johnson voters are Republicans who don't like Trump. Some of them might have supported Bernie in the primary, but these are clearly people without strong party ties who were never going to vote for Hillary. People on MSNBC (Maddow, etc.) are saying "but what if these people voted for Hillary?" You might as well ask, "What if Trump voters voted for Hillary?" It's not a helpful question to ask.

Congratulations USA - the shining example of the triumph of willful ignorance, hate, knee-jerk reactionism and outright fucking retarded stupidity over reason. Millions of "good ole boys" looked up from fucking their cousins and decided the orange troll was better than the she-devil, so they put on their best John Deere hats and went to the polls.

Hear that? It's the sound of markets crashing all over the world. I would say I hoped you get what you deserve if not for 2 things:
1. There are some Yanks I like. Most of them are on this board.
2. Unfortunately the world's biggest economy sort of affects us as well as the rest of the world.

Elizabeth Warren in 2020!

If there's anything left.

@HD
You're welcome here you know. We have some good beers. :D

PS - don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of HRC. But FFS she was by far the "lesser evil" option in this contest.

Hmmm, maybe Cthulu in 2020 because why settle for a lesser evil?

So-so. The pot thing passed, but it is a weirdly pro-corporate version of "legal" pot I've read, at least in terms of producers, so we'll see. It's good for consumers and both on a freedom-of-choice and a legalization level. The wrong death penalty prop won -- time for CA to join the executions race, I guess. Some of the spending/taxing stuff that passed is really good. ESL programs, plastic bag issues, parole, and porn condoms all went the right way imo. The ammo proposition passed too -- it's basic background checks and a prohibition on large capacity magazines, which I think are both reasonable. Some real low-info issues passed though, like a weird one requiring the state legislature to post bills only 72 hours before the vote. It's just one of those blindly anti-gov things that has no real logic. There was a weird prescription drug spending bill that had a VERY constant ad campaign against it from big pharma, and so it failed. Sorry if that's TMI about a state you don't live in.

On the other hand, like 90+% of our presidents have been white supremacists to one degree or another, and I'd wager the % of them who were rapists is in the double digits too.

NH keeps flipping. Trump leads in Alaska.

Bedtime. This has prompted me to seriously consider getting a gun license, because I'm expecting the world to slowly start becoming a shittier place. Well done, America, :D

PS: should've let Puerto Rico vote in this one...

Usually people say, "I'll leave if "x" wins" and it's bullshit.

I'm not bullshitting. I want no part of this. My job isn't something that is holding me down and I have a pretty damn good high education and JD.

I'm just so depressed. I thought we were better than this. I want to cry.

Gotcha...it interesting that AZ was the only state that didn't vote legal weed...everyone else did. All the other one fit with California...as I get older i think leaving people in the clinker is better then the death penalty..that's not our choice. Big pharma makes a mess out of everything.

No spider or drop bear is scarier than Donald Trump.

Thanks for the link, lol.

Edit: Actually spiders are scarier in person. I could kill Donald Trump more easily. Edit2: That's not a threat Secret Service/FBI/Whoever. Just leaving.
