Holy mother of god CBC is talking about Obamacare now. Never during this whole day did that particular issue occur to me.

I'm sorry for the millions who will suffer.

I can't believe people voted for sexism and racism. That they think it's okay for powerful men to sexually assault women. That intimidating people to make them vote for you is okay.

The man believes vaccines cause autism ffs!

I know it's taboo to ask who someone voted for but this time around I want to know who my American friends voted for because if they did vote Trump then clearly our friendship needs to die because some differences just aren't okay.

I just ripped off my fucking I VOTED sticker because I'm fucking pissed off.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

That's so stupid.

This guy insulted every minority he could find. He lied hundreds of times. He approves waterboarding. He is a sexist. He has no fucking clue about international politics.

Why? Why? Why?

Just because he promised he would make America great again?

I want to read the book his campaign manager will write. This is the first time since undergrad I'm regretting not pursuing an academic career. White people are PISSED at Obama and Democrats. Especially POOR white people who have a much easier time voting than anybody else.

Because voter laws are absolutely rigged against minorites.

Also, because Hillary Clinton was completely fucked by Comey and the "scandals" of 30+ years that Republicans passed along so much they became gospel.

They believe everything the Republican's say because it makes them feel better.

Better empty promises than plans that gradually improve things.

Fuck this.

Fuck them.

Canada's emigration program is robust. Working on it right now. Glad I have a professional degree.

I'm not talking about politics here my friend.

My parents are both healthcare professionals, and the Iranian healthcare system is fucking trash. I have seen the misery people fall down to when their family members are sick and they have no money to pay to hospital for anything so they sell their kidneys to buy their loved ones another day in the hospital. Regardless of how much it cost at least it was something ...

Trump is winning because of high voter turnout in rural areas. That probably has more to do with Hillary than it has to do with Trump. In other words, Hillary is what motivated them to get out and vote. It's all about turnout, and this was always one of the biggest arguments against Hillary in the primary. She's more of a motivator for the far right than Obama ever was, or than any D candidate could have been.

yes. it's called populism.

You have a system in place where the media, peer pressure, even education to an extent- all push you to live your life in a rats' race, always consuming, buying things on credit, accumulating debt, and then working like a dog to keep up with the debt- working so much you don't actually enjoy the things you bought, because you're too busy working to keep them a, and you're stressing about losing your job because then you'd lose the things you don't have time to enjoy. In all this, you're too busy to actually question or give a damn what politics means. you vote, usually the way your parents do, but you rarely take the time to educate yourself, and the whole thing is meaningless.
eventually, at some point, this life starts to frustrate you. You feel trapped in a cycle, and there's no way out. People on TV say your life's getting better, but you're not feeling it. *add in all the stuff about racism, mysogyny, etc, as it applies to your own region/culture*

You become angry. You can't articulate why you are angry- but you are. Life is not getting better, it's getting worse.

Then along comes A Populist- who is "not part of the system". He doesn't speak in fancy college-talk, and he's telling YOU he will make everyone's life better.

And so you vote. As do a TON of people who feel the same way.

Because having a woman in the White House is akin to Satan personally burning their crops or something.

A lot more than just that, Loki. There were other issues.

They've been listed.

MO that's not it at all. I don't think another female candidate (like Elizabeth Warren) would have anything resembling the same problem. Hillary has a long history in this country and that history is baked into the cake. She should have never run, because the Democrats were always going to line up behind her (though even that was close, because she's not even well-liked among liberals), and the Republicans were always going to turn out in droves to stop her.

We had this phenomen already in the 20s and 30s. Here we got Hitler. People should learn from our shitty history. No need to try everything by yourself.
