UA did the "protest vote" thing in the 2010 presidential elections. They elected an ex-con who completely criminalized the police and ran the country as one big private racket. 3 years later it took a hundred lives to kick him out, and that led to a "hybrid war" and loss of a decent chunk of the country's territory and thousands of lives, and millions of internal refugees..

Now I know that The West has "real democracy", while we're next to savages (in terms of political culture), but it's not a pretty parallel to draw.

I want to read the book his campaign manager will write. This is the first time since undergrad I'm regretting not pursuing an academic career. This is abso-fucking horrible (I don't even want to think about all the ways Trump will fuck up UA as he hands it to VVH on a silver platter), so I think I'm focusing on the sociological dynamics and the technical aspects to avoid having a breakdown.
