The Trump presidency and the current republican party, I have decided to call them out separately because Trump doesnt care about the party, are content to rule by executive order at present. Its short sighted because it can all be reversed overnight if democrats win. The reason we are in the longest government shutdown in history is because the current republican party cannot achieve an ounce of bipartisanship. They ant even win over the 5 democratic votes or whatever pitiful number they need by offering the slightest olive branch.

America elects stupid people, people unsuited to office who do not know how to get things done. The current speaker of the house wasn't elected by his colleagues out of respect for his political prowess but because he was the least objectionable option who as a former nobody had no enemies and who could be puppeted by everyone. Republicans whether out of stupidity or malice break government and then point at the disfunction as reason to discontinue those government agencies, works, policies. Bipartisanship is at an all time low. Feeding children is considered a debatable issue. America is really unwell right now.
George W. Bush: 291 executive orders over 8 years, average 36/year
Obama: 276 executive orders over 8 years, 35/year
Trump first term: 220 over 4, 55/year
Biden: 162 over 4, 41/year
Trump second term: 212 executive orders over less than a year, for an average of 280/year

Perhaps eventually every law will be stamped with a gilded augmented reality TRUMP by ubiquitous Trump AI avatars... after he ascends into the warren of cyberspace, and almost everyone in this country is entwined in His coils as he aspires to swell his glittering hoard...
