I know on one wants to jinx it...but I know we've all been following the fact that this man has not been seen on camera, in current video since August 26th. There are some still photos kicking around that seem to all either be from a few weeks ago, or the one of him and his granddaughter from last year...MAGA claiming he's fine....

But this is Donald...he loves nothing more than the spotlight. If he could be in front of the camera dispelling the rumours....he would.

So what do we think happened?

I don't think he's dead (not yet anyways)...

I could see a bunch of mini-strokes (perhaps one during the Putin meeting; and that's what spooked all his people) ending up in a bigger one that has left him unable to fulfill his duties.

People have noted that his medications are Cholesterol meds (which on their own would make sense) but coupled with the other two meds he's publicly on, they would only be something someone took who had already had a Heart attack or stroke and they are trying to prevent another.

But the thing that stands out to me most is that this man ADORES the spotlight, he has all his life...if he could feasibly appear on camera and tell everyone "I'm fine, look at me, healthy and hale!"...he would....the tweets by him don't sound like him, and the written Proof of life are not good enough. If this man was well, he'd be in front of cameras yesterday. He was not golfing, and even if one of those images that popped out IS current....they did it to get the photo, not for him to golf.

So my guess is the kerfuffle in DC now is succession, and how to manage the 25th without MAGA doing another Jan 6th...

Supposedly a presser today that was announced in the middle of the night last night....and it just says "The President will speak to the public at _____ time"....note it doesn't say President Trump will speak to the public...I'm not saying Vance was sworn in overnight....but it's possible isn't it? I mean, if they did it they can't keep it secret for long.

So my money is on a massive Ischemic stroke and Vance taking over the presidency...but I've been wrong so many times before...so who the fuck knows...maybe he'll come out dancing and pumping his little doll fists like usual....

Perhaps the realistic best-case scenario for today is that he dances so hard he has a heart attack and dies on camera.

Do you have any good source for the claim about his combination of medications only making sense for someone who already had a heart attack or stroke?

So he's publicly taking:

Rosuvastatin (cholesterol)
Ezetimibe
daily aspirin

Preventative aspirin is no longer a thing for heart issues. This means that daily aspirin regime is treating something (probable use as a blood thinner, which is a treatment preventative for managing ischemic strokes)

Ezetimibe is a secondary line med not typically used to treat LDL, statins like Rosuvastatin treat LDL high cholesterol just fine on their own, Ezetimibe is added in usually to treat someone who is a high cardiovascular risk, such as prior strokes, heart attacks, or arterial disease. In fact most simvastatins like Ezetimibe are used almost exclusively as a preventive...when you have TIAs (mini strokes), the chances of you having a bigger stroke are increased exponentially...as such, the addition of that med means he's had something that they are now trying to prevent recurring.

I'm taking all of those. All preventative.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Okay, but Trump is an obese diabetic man nearing 80 with bruising on both hands, trouble walking straight lines, dragging his right leg frequently, has CVI and massive swelling in his ankles...I dunno your medical sitch, but I don't know that you also check all those boxes....I don't think medical doctors are weighing in on this for no reason. I think it's a trail of things.

I also cannot come up with any other reason why this man who has literally not shut his fucking gob for the last 8+ years, and has always had time to talk to the press has been completely absent from said media for a week now...why his "tweets" all seem like they were written by interns...like it's a pattern, not just one thing.

Oh, surely there's smoke. Just saying that it doesn't mean there has already been like a stroke or heart attack.

I don't think Donald could run 1 mile, but I might be wrong!

And the announcement is... Trump has Ascended in death to become the immaculate Cyber-Trump, Go*-Emperor of the Multiverse! Nah, it's actually that the Space Command headquarters is moving to Alabama, to become the Rebel Hero Confederate Space KKKommand.

But Trump has yet to show up... so there's still some small hope he may be dead. (If reporters are permitted to be present, can they tell the difference at a distance between Trump and a robo-Trump?... hell, a good enough robo-Trump could be so convincing that they couldn't even tell close-up.)

I like the theory that Putin poisoned him with some form of polonium while they had their secret meeting. The thought is that it would take about this long to go into effect and it's now slowly destroying him.

It's very much not the case (OK like 90% certain it's not the case) but the discussions about it were entertaining nonetheless.

What was the special announcement in the end? Was it just the moving of Space Force to Alabama thing? Was all this just to prove he's not dead?

Amusing and slightly alarming opinion piece on America's gerontocracy.

America’s problem with ageing politicians extends far beyond Donald Trump and Joe Biden
Speculation over Donald Trump’s health threatens to mask an embarrassing truth about America’s politics – one that goes far beyond one man.

https://www.news.com...b5b83f108cf57c5

IMHO the Dems were forced to stay with Biden because they didn't have anyone suitable waiting in the wings. Well, noone they thought would appeal to a sufficient number of voters anyway.

Trump is being kept on by his fellow traitors and grifters because of the Trump base being biglier and yuger than anyone else's. Trump is the front man for their evil.
They'll dump gracefully retire him once they clear away the last vestiges of democracy and usher in their version of Gilead.

The part I find most darkly amusing: Trump's and the GOPs supporters in general should be the most anti-anything Govt overreach/surveillance state/removing your rights, aside from the more full-on Libertarians. But they are cheering it on.

Someone just shot Charlie Kirk at an event in Utah. Hard to tell but it looked like a headshot.

I wonder - if he survives - if this may shift his views on gun control. Just a smidgen.

He has (had?) no moral compass and would not care. He would simply use it to step up the right wing ladder. If you've seen the video, though -- which I don't recommend, as it is worse than you might think -- it seems unlikely he will get that opportunity.

I mean, according to the renowned right-wing scholar and political commentator, Mr. Charlie Kirk, a few gun deaths every year is worth it for America to keep the right to bear arms. Therefore we must conclude that the victim of this shooting, a Mr. Charlie Kirk, is just collateral damage on the altar of the 2nd amendment, and that the renowned scholar, Mr. Charlie Kirk, would be okay with this.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Didn't he say himself that people dying was an acceptable price to pay for the freedom to have guns? I'm sure that'll be a great comfort to his family.

Wonder how long it took Maga to start baselessly blaming it on an imaginary trans Muslim immigrant "Demon-rat"?... (Trump administration was already trying to ban trans people from having guns on the pretext of claiming that they're "mentally ill"... though if they get away with that perhaps they'll try declaring leftists "mentally ill" next... and then moderate Democrats and Never Trump Republicans too. Because anyone who isn't one of Trump's loyal lackeys must be insane...)
