Advice? Do the pose in the mirror or take a photo would probably be the best way.
Anatomy books or sites normally have some pics of a nose from underneath,
I had a go, its not the easiest pose in the world is it?

^I love the colors, Grim. He looks all shiny and...yummy.

Right now I can't decide what I loath more, the lack of international humanitarian law applicable on cyber warfare or tusks. I had hoped it wouldn't come to this but I might have to fashion a pair out of paper, tape them my flatmate's face and take pictures. I'll be watching Buffy for a month to make up for that.

Happy Birthday Grim :)

Looks like Nobbs had the right angle, a less trollish nose, or at least in my eyes it kinda looked like a troll nose.

The rest of the picture looks great

@ Dolmen, nice work :p

Do I see a smile on Shadowthrone his face? It must be my imagination.

@ Nobbs I'm not sure if there was ever mentioned in previous books what kind of long sword Brys uses, but I encountered this passage in Dust of Dreams (Bantam Press Hardcover page 41)

Out in the corridor once again, the two women paused upon seeing a Letherii approaching. Plainly dressed, an unadorned long, thin-bladed sword scabbarded at his hip, Brys Beddict
possesed no physical qualities, and yet neither Lostara nor Faradan Sort could take their eyes of him. Even a casual glance would slide past only to draw inexorably back , captured
by something ineffable but undeniable.

For the moment I thought, that forum was down due to amount of sexyness we delivered in this thread :)

Nobbs: maybe try something lighter, like rapier ? And some fencing pose?
Grim: Happy Bday! Nose looks fine now, glad to see you almost finishing Icarium.
Dolmen: I think this should be the cover of our calendar. Srsly!

thats looking really good fausti! The river is a nice touch. Adds depth, this is a great cover, no need to change that :).

I do like it, he looks a bit more mature and less, um, emo-ish than the previous face. My only quibble would be with the musculature. Paran is still a soldier, and he needs shoulders, IMO.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Nice work Fausti.

The scars, the partly mutilated ear.

My 5 cents on the shoulders: He is a soldier yes, but also Noble born with a bought commission (the latter was what I understood from Garden of the Moon) and not some farm boy who helped his parents on the land or a fisher boy who tended nets\helped his Dad fishing (just some examples) and builded up bulk\muscles that way.

So in my eyes it doesn't matter that he's lean looking at his heritage.

he needs a thicker lower lip and maybe a bigger/wider jaw. you could google for orks as a reference (if you haven't yet), they usually have tusks (those from skyrim/oblivion look pretty nice)

I haven't really started on the lips yet, still working on the angle of the tusks :p Thanks for the tip though, I'll have a look when the time comes.

Would it count as research if I took a break from this and went on a stroll through Skyrim to find me some orcs? Pretty sure it would.

..............

Screw this, I'll just make it in profile. Sweet defeat.

@Isolde - Have you thought about having the tusks coming out from his jaw
rather than his mouth. Like this -

I had thought about that but wasn't sure it would be okay. But we talked about the issue with drooling in another thread and having the tusks emerge somewhere other than through the mouth would definitely be a solution. I think I'm going to make one version in profile and one as you suggested and see what looks better.

Brys looks good, amazing job with the skin tone and torso! I can also see the brotherly resemblance to Tehol :p

Tusk coming from the jaw should really solve all the problems!

My 5 cents to Brys: isn't his torso too elongated? You did an awesome job on the details and muscled, but I'd look better imho if either the whole figure was widened or just his body from neck down shortened. He'd have better proportions.

Fantastic art! I think all of the drawings are great :) The only problem (problem is too strong a word, but it's only one I can think of at the moment) is that I can vaguely recall Cotillion thinking to himself that he needs a hair cut and shave, and then in a later book another character commenting on his short cut hair. But it doesn't really matter, as the Cotillion pic is brilliant. I can't wait to see the final calender.
