@ UoW: I don't know, I'm liking the new pose and scars but that's just my opinion.

For me face scars are awesome.

I vaguely remember a conversation in one of the novels where some malazan explains to a non-malazan why "Hood's breath" is a curse and it's something like 'Hood has no breath' and this all makes sense. What I'm wondering is whether "Hood's hairy balls" mean that a.) Hood has no balls, b.) Hood has no hair on his balls c) Hood has hairy balls.... alternatively d) 'hairy balls' is just the sort of thing soldiers like to say.
This is relevant because I'm trying to decide whether or not he should be hairy.

FACT: Hairy balls do not necessarily mean hairy man.

Though the converse is _always_ true.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Progress. He's been to the gym.
Don't think he looks like Gruntle yet (his face) and lots to do on the lower half.
Thoughts on the tattoos? Like this or back to the darker ones?

Well, we know it's not a), because of this awesome peace of conversation from MT:

"Hood's balls," Iron Bars muttered. "When do we sail?"
Shurq Elalle shrugged. "As soon as they let us. And who is Hood?"
The white-skinned warrior replied distractedly, "The Lord of Death, and yes, he has balls."

Close to finished.
Not sure about the background, I'd done 3/4 of it before I realised Dolmen had already done a jungle one.

Nobbs, leave it just the way it is, jugle fits Gruntle. +1 awesomeness for chest hair ;) But I think that his legs should be just a little longer and more muscled.

Definitely looking forward to this.

On another note, and forgive me if it was mentioned higher in the thread, but why not a kind of group month? Like one of Envy, Rake, and Osserc? Bridgeburners group would be legendary, but that'd be wayyy too much work.

Finished.
I decided my jungle isn't jungle, but rainforest, and therefore different from Dolmen and Nacht's. ;)

Yeah, I also like A and B but think Bs stance looks odd.

Maybe do a little research in longsword stances/techniques to see if there are any that look real and good to make it more convincing.

They're all over youtube so shouldn't be too hard to find. As a hint though most longsword techniques are done with two hands, either both on the hilt, one half way up the blade or both on the blade (dont think this one would work as a sexy picture)

Saying this if it looks better done one handed then thats whats really important ;)
