It was on this date, exactly one year ago that I witnessed the maw of the unfathomable blackness slowly eat the Sun. Only to wretch forth the orb of life again to bring renewal and warmth to the world once again.
I sit here, mouth agape (just like on that day) thinking about what I experienced. The land and I were changed forever. Wake each morning children of the sun and give thanks for the dawn.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Wow, this is a really interesting correlation: feelings and reactions of revulsion and political ideology.
Another long-ish article from The Atlantic but they dumb it down, for which I am grateful. Was thinking of putting this in the USA Politics thread but went with Science instead.

REALLY REALLY LATE EDIT:
Fits in with the link in QT's post referring to embedded/entrenched belief systems:

uh, guys? Is this a precursor to the looming zombie apocalypse? I mean, it's not a stretch to extrapolate that this kind of research sets into motion the steps and nascent beginnings whereby 'patient 0' become a reality, right? Time to get real serious about 'bug-out bags', supplies, weapons, non perishable foods and a rock solid plan.

According to that, looks like most Republicans have a post-mortality career path as zombies. After being the figuratives zombies they already are.
