So would you people reccomend demon slayer season 2?

I also heard good things about odd taxi.

I kinda fell off anime aside from Attack on Titan, and that one isekai about the goverment worker reforming the kingdom he gets isekaid.

Realist Hero is pretty good. For a more backstabby, nasty politics with some wacky comedy version, check out Genius Prince.

Demon Slayer season 2 is all flash and no substance, but it never really tries to be anything other than dumb fun, so that works. And there is a LOT of flash. The flashiest flash.

Yeah if you liked Demon Slayer season 1 you'll like season 2, its more of the same. (And if you watched the Mugen Train movie, the first half of season 2 is literally recut from the movie with only minor differences so you can watch episode 1 then skip to the second half of season 2). Demon Slayer is the modern dragon ball z, it's not especially deep or a super original story but its a fun time and has some amazing fights when it gets going (and some of the fights last longer than they need to but its hype).

Definitely watch Odd Taxi, its awesome. Its like a Guy Ritchie movie in anime walrus form.

The 86 Cour 2 finale was fucking great. More than made up for the three month gap.

Far and away this season's best new show is Sabikui Bisco though. It's everything great about anime - OTT setting, ludicrous fights, charismatic characters, and a copious snort of LSD-laced cocaine.

Bisque Doll ending was great. Very wholesome. Kind of wonder what next season might bring in the romance genre that could top it tbh.

Watched the final episode of Sabikui Bisco last night. If you've not already seen this, you really should. About the only non crazy thing about this show is the story, which is sort of basic, but my god. What a ride. A genuine 9/10 for me overall.

Post-season blues approaching, though Spring 22 looks pretty promising. Quite a lot of sequels and quite a lot of trash isekai coming. And I am such a slut for trash isekai.

Just watched PROMARE....what is it about Trigger stuff that is so insidiously good ?! First few things by Trigger I saw I wasn't over the moon about, but after a little while I'm starting to adore it. This movie was really solidly great!

Shows I have picked up (watched at least 1 episode) so far:

Aharen-san
Deaimon
Healer Girl
Otome Games are Rough for Mobs
Greatest Demon Lord
Executioner's Way of Life
Shield Hero s2 (wonder how long before Twitter latches onto one character essentially saying 'slavery is based!' in ep1 of this)
Science Fell in Love s2
Heroing Sucks; I Quit
Tomodachi Game

Couple more additions.

Skeleton Knight (Twitter is already mad about this one)
Dawn of the Witch

Machikado S2 has dropped but I haven't had chance to get on board with that yet, however who could ever object to more Shamicc? Same with Komi-san S2. Shaping up to be another busy season.

Also is it just me or did a new season of Galactic Heroes drop when I wasn't looking?

Machikado S2 is basically everything enjoyable about the first season already. Can see this being a winner without much effort.

Updated list adds to the above:

Machikado S2
Skeleton Knight
Kaguya S3
Love After World Domination
Black Rock Shooter
Kono Healer, Mendokusai
Kunoichi Tsubaki
Dawn of the Witch
Yatgogame-chan S4
Komi-san S2

And we still have 3/4 shows yet to air that I plan to watch or otherwise check out (Bookworm S3 for instance)

Pretty much a standard busy season

Oh god there is way too many good shows this season and I'm not even done with last season :apt: I had a lazy weekend and was able to catch a bunch of debut episodes but no way am I going to be able to keep up this momentum.

Saw so far:

Spy X Family - Actually living up to the overhype?! Amazing so far
Love After World Domination - Kinda funny, kinda cute, not sure if I'll stick with it though
Machikado S2 - is it just me or did this get more frantic editing and more overtly gay?
Deaimon - Gorgeous and wholesome
Paripi Koumei - WHAT
Dance Dance Danseur - The ballet cold open is steamy
To Become a Real Heroine - Lotta fun
Birdie Wing - Prince of Tennis but it's golf, I guess. Visually lacklustre but I'll keep watching just for how ridiculous it is.

I also intend to watch Bookworm S3 and at least check out Tomodachi Game. Gaaah this is way too much but so many of them are actually really good! At the very least, there's no way I'm dropping Spy, Deaimon, Dance Dance, or Become Heroine.

Is that the one where literally the first scene is a gratuitous rape scene? Gee, I wonder why Twitter would find that distasteful...

D'rek did you just

Did you just ship the Shamicc

Also To Become Heroine is the one about the idol group manager, right? I only ask as there was a similarly named miniseries that I saw a while back that was weird as balls.

As to Galhero, I expect that's why I'd missed it, I'd not seen any announcements about a third season.

Maybe it's the particular subtitles I was watching, but Momo casually called their outing a date twice.

I mean, it's adapted from a 4-koma, right? There's no way anything is actually going to happen relationship-wise.

Yes. Girl from the sticks who is good at running/track goes to high school in Tokyo far from home because that school has an actual track team, has 2 hot guys in her class that everyone else seems to fawn over but they're secretly assholes, finds out those two are an idol pair together even though they hate each other, has to get a job to support herself living away from home, accidentally winds up being the part-time assistant manager of the idol jerks.

I think in Japan a lot of casual social hangouts that are just two people get called a date. Maybe anime has jaded me in that respect.

I may check out TBH. My schedule is much tighter lately (I definitely didn't download an L2D and start messing around with it, I swear), and I'm also about 130 episodes into a Fairy Tail run right now. The key art looks cute and the fact the idols are dudes makes no difference to me at all. Seiso idols. Yes.

I suppose. Maybe the translation was just more literal than usual here.

Didn't know you'd want to know.

It's been pretty fun so far, though not mindblowing. I don't get why everyone is so in love with the OP song, it seems just alright to me, not particularly catchy? Well, not the first time I've been told I have weird taste in music.

Spy X Family still my top runner for the season so far. I'm still shocked it's actually living up to the hype.

Today's
Spoiler

was a great combo of silly hilarious and sweet.

It's fun for sure. Kaguya is edging it out for now on my end, largely due to the impeccable comedic timing.

Executioner / Virgin Road is setting itself up to be a moral quandary take on Talentless Nana. I am quite liking that the MC's line between duty is getting blurred and questioned as she spends time with her mark in the way it is.

I checked out To Become Heroine by the way (the other one I was mixing it up with was To Be Hero/Heroine) and it's pretty decent. I am not a fan of the MC's voice though.

Kaguya has basically hit the point where it only cares about the audience who are super duper in love with its characters and I'm not so I think I gotta drop it now.

What's wrong with TBH's voice?
