If you've already read Alviarin's POV, you should know that the female sa'angreal was destroyed completely. The key was also destroyed, as we learned at the end of WH, but the key is worthless without the sa'angreal anyway.

She didn't recognize Faile, but rather her married name. Galina knew of Perrin from Dumai's Wells. She isn't likely to be able to recognize many nobles by sight, since as Highest of the Red Ajah she would not have left Tar Valon very often. Morgase was in the Tower briefly, but that was more than 20 years ago, when she was just sixteen years old. She did recognize Alliandre, but only after being told who Alliandre was, and even then she was uncertain it was the same girl she had seen all those years ago (probably 20 or 30).

Agreed; I've been saying for a while now that I hope Demandred gets buttraped by Shaidar Haran before the end. But alas, I doubt it will happen...

Ah. Well, Verin's compulsion requires that the compelled find her own reasons for doing whatever Verin told her to. The benefit is ultimately to Rand, but those were the reasons Elza found.

Padain Fain, Mordeth and whoever he is now. He has just killed a Worm and "Myrddraal" and took control of the Trollocs that the Fade controlled, first of all is this the first time we've seen this type of thing happen? (A fade dying but his trollocs surviving)

Also, is Fain killoing everything in the blight so that they cannot kill Rand because he wants to? Or is he making his way to Shayol Ghul to confront Rand then the Dark One?

What theories are out there about Fain?

1. Fain has had a special ability to torture and even control Myrddraal since he merged with Mordeth. We began to see those abilities in TGH when he fought for control with the Fade who took him from Fal Dara, eventually nailing him to a door in a village for Rand and Co. to find. His abilities have been growing since, but he didn't appear to understand how much they had grown until he went to the Blight.

2. Most likely he's gathering zombie Trollocs around him to protect him on the way to Shayol Ghul, aside from the fact that he gets some amount of enjoyment out of it.

3. There are a ton of theories about Fain. I still think he sent the Shadowspawn after Rand in KOD, but if it was one of the Forsaken, it had to be Graendal. As for the end game, most agree he'll have a Gollum-like role, though Brandon insists he won't end up like Gollum. I think he's bound for a confrontation with Shaidar Haran, considering his special abilities.
