Man I spent so long on MGS on the PSOne it was way ahead of its time.
A Haunting Poem
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For I Scream.
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For I Scream.

Killed Tiamat last night. Once I figured out how to get her to land, killed her in one try. I actually miss the life bars telling me how much longer I have to whittle away at a boss's hide- good thing Darksiders 2 introduced those.
Anyhow, played up to Ulthane, but i'll be damned if I remember how to beat him,
I'll probably figure it out this evening (it'll probably turn out to be smth basic, like using Chaos form, probably, since the game went through pains to make me fight in that form in the shadow lurker's challenge just before).
One thing I noticed about Apocalyptic difficulty: the "really tough" bosses, I'm handling pretty well (I also killed the Jailer on first try). It's the "regular" big demons that get me, because they do unexpectedly serious damage with a single hit. I died like 15 times in a cathedral in a fight that had 3 waves, ending up with a pair of those ice knights--just because I kept underestimating how much damage a hit from them (or that poison demon) does.
Still, having much fun, and eagerly waiting for a chance to come back to places I already visited with new tools to enter the locked off areas.

What was the name of that one ice boss in 2 again? He was an absolute pain.
The one in Drenchfort? Don't remember.
I was right about Ulthane. Did his "game" last night, and got into the Griever's rtunnels, when sound started to desync. May need to reload an earlier save if just quitting and restarting won't solve it.
I think so - I mostly remember that he was optional and a double hard bastard.
Optional? I don't think that's the one I meant then. But I don't recall DS2 as well as the original (the second game was masive)
So it was in the second area (the floating wasteland with lots of Necropolises) - about halfway down the map was a dungeon that you never had to go into for any quests. And at the end there was a really nasty boss (ice themed). The main thing I recall is when he did his heccin super nasty attack you had to forward roll under his legs. If he froze you, he'd take you to funky town.
nope, do not recall that.
Killed the Griever last night. Just about to start Ashlands and hunt the worm.
I also ran into special K twice already. Have no recollection where he's hiding the third time.
Still, having a blast collecting all kinds of random collectible crap and looking into every corner for hidden chests.

Wow, killing the Stygian Worm is easy when you remember how to do it! (Who'd have thought?). I remember the first time I played the game, I spent multiple tries on that fight, but this time I killed him on the 1st try (on a higher difficulty, too!).
Onto the Iron Canopy now, and the second last gadget (the hook-chain). If I put in some solid play time this weekend, I might actually wrap this game up.

Are you playing Xenoblade or Xenosaga? Or both? I'm confused!
I've got 60+ hours on Fire Emblem: Awakening and still going. If it remains as good until the end it will go straight into my all-time favourite list.

Killed Silitha. That one was tougher (damn teleporting enemies)
Now just hopping around, using the Abyssal chain to hook-shot to places and collect hidden stuff. Found the 3rd Wicked K location, too!
Black throne will probably wait until the weekend, cuz it had some complex puzzles once the portal gun is introduced.

It's been so long I don't remember. I want to say it might be double xp or something to do with the cost of cards or something.
Don't know if they changed the game modes but my favourites were the bounty hunt where you're farming money and Last Titan Standing where you start out in a titan.

The PS1 Classic doesn't appeal to me at all. I do have a SNES Classic, though.

^^ Talking of the SNES Classic, I got it last year but only unboxed it to check it worked at the time. This weekend was the first time I've sat down and really used it. I started Earthbound, which I've never played before, and played a bit of LoZ: A Link to the Past, just because I want to play it again before I get A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS.

It annoys me so much that they released the sequel to A Link To The Past on the 3ds. I'd have bought the WiiU to play that game.

Maark. I feel like you're the videogame version of my posts in the movie forum.
Link to the Past is one of the best video games ever made. Like, to this day, it's number one or near the top of every top 100 list.

All right, at the 22 hour mark, I'm basically all done (maxed out health and wrath, and collected all artifacts and the Abyssal Armour), and ready for the final showdown.
After this I think I'll try the second Prince of Persia game before jumping into Darksiders II
Oh, and for the record: having never owned a Nintendo, I have no opinion on the value of Zelda to the genre. So maybe maark has a point.

It's not Zelda overall, it's Link to the Past specifically. It's a wonderful game

What that is bonkers.
What that is bonkers.
Where I was growing up console was a luxury, and my parents definitely could not afford one.
I started gaming via PC- first at my parents' work, and later when my grandmother (an accountant) was given a surplus PC by her employer. I never made the transition.
