Got SW: BFII for xmas....and I'm LOVING it!

I could play PVP Heroes VS Villains mode for HOURS AND HOURS!

But even the main story mode is flat out excellent.

So far this game is amazing and fixed all the stuff I disliked about the first game.

And the fact that they fixed all the loot boxes now, and opening up heroes and such is much quicker (I got Vader open in about an hour of play)...bonus.

Glad you're enjoying it, but sad that you bought it. The more people that do that the more likely they are to repeat their bullshit in the future. They only fixed it because they were worried about sales, and the only way make the message stick on their mind is to make sure those sales stay down. Letting them off the hook because they "fixed" it just means they won't learn. :p

Extra sad because it's the only major Star Wars game out and TLJ made me crave some SW gaming. (Still waiting for a Jedi Academy 2... Damn that game was awesome.)

I got it as a gift. I didn't ask for it. I'm not about to tell my wife "You shouldn't have bought me this generous Christmas present" and then spout off against EA to her. It is what it is.

Ah, fair enough, I missed the Christmas bit. Take it as more of a general rant against buying the game for other people, then. XD

@Obdi
Re: KOTOR 3 - only if they don't make it an mmo or put in loot boxes or horrendous dlc, or butcher it beyond recognition. None of which I would hold my breath for at this point. But yes, I do dream of a proper KOTOR sequel done right.
I also occasionally mash them together where the action side of Jedi Academy mixes with the RPG and story/open world aspects of KOTOR and makes some sort of mega SW game. Oh the fun that could be had.

And I actually like the idea of the movies moving to that era too. It open up the field for a lot more free storytelling and get people away from the OT comparisons (and alleviate the EU comparisons as well a little). But I can see why they might be cautious about that as it might be confusing for newcomers as it's not super easy to identify the different time periods at a glance...

I still play KOTOR from time to time. That game holds a DAMNED special place in my heart!

I still enjoy it too - though my most enduring memory is not being able to leave the first planet without the game crashing every time for the first couple of years I owned it (until I got a different computer). No idea what was actually causing it but new games, reinstalling, nothing fixed it. Just got to the "escape the planet" cut scene, then black screen and crash to desktop. XD
So frustrating. Made playing it fully eventually very satisfying though, lol.

All this talk of KOTOR and Jedi Academy has got me a bit nostalgic (for games that aren't actually all that old, lol). Battle for Middle Earth springs to mind, haven't played that in years, and I'm not even sure it was a particularly good game these days, but I enjoyed it at the time. Neverwinter Nights, must've had hundreds of hours logged in that. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, hands-down one of the best action RPG games ever made, albeit buggy and a relatively shallow stat/skill tree compared to some, completely made up for by the story (and that setting, so disappointed the World of Darkness MMO by CCP got cancelled!).

Gah, now I want to play them all again.

You can transfer your frustration to me, Silencer, cuz I bought myself the BF2 slim 1tb PS4 bundle. I don't even care about this game and never played the first one, it's just that this bundle was cheaper than a normal, 0-game 500GB PS4. I don't know if they got the message or not, but they're giving this thing away.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I just want to play Dishonored 2 so bad but my PC can't run it so I got it for Xbox last year. Problem is I've always been PC master race guy so I fucking hate the controls (the Xbox wasn't for me and I was against it actually and lo behold I doubt anyone here touches it more than once a week on average nowadays) and can't get used to them cause I never play anything else on it and I can't enjoy it properly and it frustrates me because I love the game but I just don't feel like playing when I can't enjoy it fully.
That being said I've managed to make my way through almost whole Jarring Kindlosh or whatshisname's mansion so the terrible controls shouldn't bother me as much from now on but I just can't bring myself to play it, plus I rarely have the opportunity to play on Xbox peacefully.
Aargh

Instead I'm waiting for M&B Bannerlord to play some singleplayer I like again. Atleast they've been releasing all the cool stuff on their blog lately and I have some catching up to do on that front so that makes me happy.

Umm isn’t there 3 Academy games that came out?

I’d love to replay Xwing and Tie Fighter.

Well I mean, the series technically went: Star Wars: Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

AFAIK there haven't been any Jedi Academy sequels, or more Jedi Knight games since Academy. But Academy was really the one that went all-out. Which is a shame.

And yeah, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter was amazing, too. At least for its time. XD

As a fellow "PC Master Race guy", I recommend you sit down for a few weekends in a row and use the controllers. Hell, plug the controller into your PC and use it for FPS games on that, too. It doesn't take much repeated use to get used to a controller, and the Xbox ones are amazing compared to the PS versions. I still love/prefer mouse+keyboard in general but the controllers aren't unpleasant for me to use in most games.

Yeah, it was the one where you dont play as Kyle, you make your own character. He's in it, just not very much. He's like your mentor.

I thought Dishonoured 2 was... Underwhelming. Or perhaps it just wasn't enough of a different game from the first to make me really love it. I did enjoy playing as the girl though.

Did the bridge and the party. just got to the Tower.

I'm anticipating some kind of twist once I do this.

Also, bought the 2 DLCs yesterday for Daud's story.

Gameplay-wise, I'm addicted to Blink. I really need to use Posession more (i still haven't possessed a single rat!), but stealthing it up with Blink is too easy and fun.

Definitely enjoyed the Daud DLC for the first game. I'm looking forward to eventually playing Dishonored 2's "Death of the Outsider" DLC for the same reason. It continues the story from the first game I believe.

Personally I have been playing a few games.

I played through Steamworld Dig 2. That is an awesome Metroidvania game. They managed to expand and improve Dig 1 in pretty much every way possible, except maybe the actual writing which is paper thin. I think this might perhaps be the best paced and balanced upgrade progression I've experienced in one of these types of games. Really good game.

Tried Slain: Back from Hell and hated it. I get the idea behind the game. It's basically an old school sidescrolling NES-like action game but with super up pixels and music. It's aesthetically cool as hell. However I think it plays like ass. The combat feels like a slog and the fighting feels unsatisfactorily imprecise. Deleted it after 15 minutes of giving it an honest try.

Played some Unbox. This is a simple but incredibly enjoyable open world collectathon. Really mellow and fun. It's a game I'll go back to over and over again the coming weeks I think.

Also just started Darkest Dungeon. This is a super atmosferic game. I'm loving the Eldritch/Lovecraftian theme. I'm anxiously worrying about how punishing the game becomes as a delve into this darkest of dungeons.

Got Nioh last night. Excellent game. So far probably the best Dark Souls game around. It's not as hard as Dark Souls, but it's also not easy by any stretch (though for DS vets it's probably not quite going to scratch the difficulty itch). Largely because the combat is better and more fluid imo. There is an actual storyline, which is a nice change too, though I always kind of liked the purity of DS basically keeping all its story to lore and on the periphery if you just wanted to focus on the gameplay. But the best thing about it for me is not only does it do the "hard but fair" stuff that DS does, but every enemy has their own stamina (Ki) meter displayed, so you know that everyone - absolutely everyone - is playing by the exact same rules as you are. It's great.

Played CoD WWII today.

Never been so split about a game before. It manages to be fun but at only 6 hours long I could never recommend it at full price, thank god for friends. It manages to be innovative and also the most cliche FPS I have played in a while. Its retro with health bars bars and the worst iron sights I have played in a long while. The squad mate powers are cool but not enough to make it fresh. The WW2 setting is nostalgic but starting the game with the D-day landing was I think a mistake. Reminded me of nearly every WW2 shootr I ever played. Still had a blast and kept me busy today.

Multiplayer and zombies wont interest me unfortunatly

Played through the Life Is Strange prequel. Not quite as fun as the original -- fewer puzzle moments for sure, less dynamic w/o the rewind feature, and I prefer Max to Chloe -- but still really engaging with some major standout moments.

Wait loading of the disc or do you mean downloading off the interent? The latter is not th consoles fault. Though a recent session of gears of war 4 taught me you have to disconnect from the internet to play or else you are forced to download a 50gb update before playing. Even the SP campaign, which is stupid.

Okay its time to mix up the genres. Too much shooters and Ass creed origins. So my next games needs to be:
DoW III
Total Warhammer

After that I need to decide between
Wolfenstein Series
Dishonored Series
Halo 5

This is very frustrating. How can it take that damn long to load a game from the disc?

I love my PS4. Quick

The most powerful console ever is a damn joke!

Not all of it is on the disc. There will be a *lot* of patches. And 4k textures are literally stupid large. The last time I installed Halo 5 it had approx 40gb of patches. So total game size was in excess of 100gb by quite a margin. Besides which, a blu-ray disc has a limited read speed, and the hdd has a limited write speed. I think it took me like 4-5 hours with a 100mbps fibre connection. Huge game is huge.

It's why the continually limited size of the hdds in these things perplexes me.
