BK likes guides. It's one of those charming, southern quirks I think.

So, Inside. That game was amazing. I was just enthralled right from the start. The lighting, the setting, the sound design. By god, the sound design was incredible. I probably annoyed the hell out of my neighbours as I continously increased the volume just to experience it more. At first I thought this might be something like a holocaust thing, but when I reached the first mind control helmet I realised this was something altogether different.

I loved the water creature. It freaked me the fuck out when I had to swim from it. My heart was genuinely hammering when I raced to reach a ledge before she got to me.

Anyone do the 'Enderal' conversion for Skyrim yet? If so, thoughts?

These in game bks are great. Def add to the story. Does a world map exist for fast travel at some pt or is it all in this city? When should I do the DLC stuff?

It's all in the city. The DLC is for after the game.

I did try it. I can't really comment on the gameplay because the horrible lighting effects prevented me from playing it for more than 15 minutes, hurt my eyes and all. It also didn't have anything higher than 1080*750 resolution.

So I've only choked out maybe 3 people. Up to the brothel lvl. How much harder will it make the game and much will affect dialogue if I continue to go for kills? I like killing in this game.

Shit ton more rats, but you can deal with that by standing on chairs and hacking at them. It changes the end of the story too, the high chaos ending had me jumping out of my chair and going nooooooo (and promptly quickloading my last save and trying to change it)
Also the final level will happen at night instead of during a day, and will be far more difficult to fight through. Sneaking is always a cakewalk though.

I had the high chaos ending, was suitably shocked. Just watched the other endings on YouTube.

You could use the upgraded blink from the stairs leading up to there to prevent the cutscene from being started and kill the guy from behind. (Or other more creative ways of doing this, I was obsessed for a while)
It's satisfying and you'll get a different ending.

SPOILERS, don't ruin anything for BK (sort of spoilers anyway)!

And yes I know I could have done, but after that I figured I might as well just watch what I wanted to and leave it. I did the same thing with the Bioshock games.

I bet the GOTY guide is massive like all Bethsda ones. I can see TES in this game for sure.

I'll just throw it out there that the game was developed by Arkane studios, and it's an evolution of the design style of the original Deus Ex and the Thief trilogy.

Bethesda softworks (the guys who've been making the Elder Scrolls games for decades) weren't involved. At all. The game was published by Zenimax/Bethesda, which is a publisher that also publishes The Elder Scroll games, but Todd Howard and co didn't in any way participate in making Dishonoured.

Finished Deus Ex: Mankind Divided last week. It was great. The ending was predictably unsatisfactory but the overall gaming experience was phenomenal. One of the best games of the year definitely.

Then I started playing Dead Rising 3 on PC. I'd been putting off playing this game for ages, even though what I'd seen upon the launch of the X-box One, looked really good. I guess I was so frustrated with Dead Rising 2 that I didn't really want to play the third game.

I am happy to say that Dead Rising 3 is an amazing game. It's like Dead Island or Dying Light but so much more goofy and dumb. They streamlined all the dumb japanese bullshit in the second game and just made a very free, very fun open world zombie fighting game. All the character and weapon and car upgrades make for a really varied and weird game. There's nothing quite like mowing down hundreds of zombies with a megaphone gun. Or crushing zombies with a motorcycle steam roller, etc.

I didn't really care about Dead Rising 4 coming out in December, now it's on my Need to Play list.

Also started Homefront: The Revolution up again. Dambuster's released a Version 2.0 Patch last week and it seems like they've fixed all the technical issues I had with the game initially.

And surprise, surprise, Homefront 2 is actually really good. Sure it had a lot of rough edges in regards to UI, menues, button layout, animations, etc. but under all that, there's a really rough but fascinating game. I've heard people describe the game as Farcry mixed with Half-life 2's resistance fighting in City 17 and they're not wrong.

This game is hard and it's punishing. I am sure it gets easier with the upgrades I can buy but setting out in the beginning, it feels like you are actually outgunned and out manned.

You have a hard time hitting enemies with the weapons and you die in just few hits. So you need to get close and you need to be fast and then run away. You have to employ proper hit and run guerilla tactics.

And the city is so fucking grim and oppressive. You have big floating Nork airships like in Half-life, that drift over the city patroling. If they spot you they fire at you, but more scary they summon a dozen soldiers and APCs to come fuck you up. Same thing happens if you make too much commotion and start fire fights that take too long. Meaning you need to always be careful and always keep an eye out.

The area I started in is completely bombed out and overgrown. It feels like you're in the ruins of the aftermath of war.

Hell there's even snipers around that take pot shots at you and the NPCs on the streets. It helps to build up the feeling of paranoia and fear.

I am sure as I grow stronger, the games tricks will become less effective, but from the outset, Homefront: The Revolution is doing a damn good job.

Getting more hype for Centralfiction. They've just put out a full match Mai gameplay video and hot damn, she looks like incredibly good fun to use.

Ummm how big is this game? I've already freed a certain young person which I wasn't expecting till the end.

You're a little bit past halfway through, depending on how you count of course. (halfway through the story, a little bit more through the game play)

Lords of the Fallen is free on PS pluss this month. It's a game I probably would have thought was pretty alright if I had never played any of the souls games. Lords of the Fallen is basically a Dark Souls clone, which is why I was excited to play it. I love the souls games, and I was intrigued as to how another studio would be able to utilize the same formula. Besides, I think Apt (?) spoke warmly of it at some point.

It's a decent game, but when compared to Dark Souls 1,2 or 3 it falls far short of what it could be. The controls are much clunkier, even though I use the same control scheme as in Souls. The controls are less responsive, the camera much shittier and the animations much less fluid. In addition, the hit boxes make no sense. The game is also a fair bit easier.

Furthermore, the bosses are simply put incredibly boring. First boss is a big knight with a sword and shield. The second boss is a big knight with a sword and shield. The third boss is a big guy with a scythe. They're all the same size. The fourth boss is a little different, but still rather uninteresting all in all. The bosses are predictable and have a very limited move set that they utilize in more or less a fixed pattern.

To conclude, it provides some of the Souls pleasure, but it's not worth spending money on. I'd rather wait until the DS3 dlc in october.

I enjoyed what I played of Lord of the Fallen. I only beat two of the bosses before I set it aside for something, but I think I liked the game more than Dark Souls. Maybe because, like you say, the game felt easier and more approachable. More Western than Japanese perhaps.

It's still sitting on my hard drive but much like Dark Souls 3 I just can't summon the interest to play Souls like games currently. And there's so many more appealing games coming out this fall.

I'm depressed.

I think I'm getting bored of games in general. This last year or so I've abandoned Fallout 4, Witcher 3, and there's just not enough of anything really in No Man's Sky to keep me interested. I just put Star Wars Battlefront on, but I've turned that off after 30 minutes after reminding myself how awful it is it.

I've got a few nice games like Fire Emblem on the 3DS but it really isn't comfortable to hold for long, and I've got a big tv to play on.

Maybe Dark Souls dlc will arrive soon, they're the only games recently that I get absorbed in enough to finish.

Back playing dragonball xenoverse again. Not a huge fan of fighter games, this one is so easy to play though that I enjoy the crap out of it (the theme probably doesn't hurt).

That being said, my main (custom) character is now so powerful that the AI missions are a cakewalk. I just power up, go Super Saiyan, and spam Final Flash for obscene damage. Got a perk so that now, when people hit me, I get heaps of Ki back, so even if they interrupt my power up, it actually helps me, and when they get hits in sometimes between beamspams, it just prolongs my transformation.

But yeah, awesome game, can't wait for #2 later this year!

Crosspost, but I have the same problem. Not enough time, and the games I think I want to play I can't even get into when I do have time. Found it helps to just try a bunch of different games until I find something I can settle in to. Eventually get back around to playing the ones I wanted to play.

I've been playing the small indie games like Inside (Awesome) Abzu and Unravel but they're so short they're done in a few sessions. Whereas No Man's Sky is limitless but doesn't really give any sense of achievement. Also I don't have time to walk across a planet for ten hours.

I'd like to play some Zelda on a big screen but Nintendo can't get their act together.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
