That is just a travesty. Opeth writes the best metal love songs ever.

I don't know,
Spoiler
is a good one to set the candles to.

I've set the spoiler tag on that one because the title is a little gnarly.

Also, Opeth lost their way. Mikael's lack of growl recently perturbs me.

Agreed. Their old stuff is still good though.

And the Opeth debate rears its ugly head in a new place
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Nah, no debate from me. I just don't listen to their new stuff. I have Black Crown Initiate to sate my tendencies for that style now.

It's just funny to me, any time their name appears, it's inevitable that the musical critics of the world start drawing lines in the sand. Part of the endless need for dividing metal into sub-genres, I guess - that gets so carried away.

I did go listen to a couple songs from the new album, seemed pretty retro. That lead me to listen to cuts from various albums and that really drew my attention to the serious changes that have come throughout their progress. I understand the need for changes and development on the part of a musician, but I can see why so many serious metal fans can get turned off by the melodic stuff.

I really like that variety coming from the same group, that's one of the reasons I like the band, that wide range.

My interview with the owner of a local bookshop that closed a year and a half ago and has now relocated and reopened. Its kind of geographically local, but the guy is cool and he's the go to place for sci-fi and fantasy lit and he used to host RPG campaigns and had comics. It was cool and is now cool again.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.
