Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

When do self checks stop being a preventative measure and start being self fondling?

Granted. You have now moved to the 27th of July 2012 (today, on the 18.1.2012). For some reason, this shift only happened to you and from now on, you live approximately 5 months ahead of everybody else. It's kind of impossible to have a normal life and you turn into a hermit. A chrono-hermit so to speak, since you are not isolated locally, but time wise.
I thought I'd quote this over here, so not to disrupt the flow of the other thread but WOAH, JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS CONCEPT IS WEIRDING ME OUT.
Seriously, if you somehow were 5 months ahead of everybody else, you'd be getting people having their side of a 5-month-old conversation with you, all the time...right? I mean if you asked somebody a question you wouldn't get the answer until 5 months later because you'd have to wait until they got to the same point in time as you were when you asked it...I think.
And does that mean that other people see 5-months-ago you (in the same way that we see starlight)? So you'd have to do everything 5 months in advance. What about your possessions and stuff like that? They'd all be 5 moths ago, wouldn't they? How would cooking a meal work? How would flushing the toilet work? How would anything work?
MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN.

I think time would quickly sync back up, you'd learn to adapt, or go irrevocably insane.
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Just did a double take at this headline on japantimes.co.jp (Japan Times newspaper)

He must have been pretty appealing for a while at least. Makes sense. If you have appeal, you are not a molester. If you lose it, it becomes molesting.

It's kinda telling that all the adult phone services have a local number with local call cost for female customers but all the guy numbers are 1900 numbers and cost $2 a minute.

I had to do a quadruple take. I think I've finally gone off the deep end. I first read that as "molestar" as if Japan had a famous mole, perhaps friends with Hamtaro, who had lost his star appeal. Then I looked again and saw the correct spelling, but still pronounced it as mole-ster (rhymes with pollster) in my head, and thought people with lots of moles on their skin were losing appeal.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I had the opposite it issue - I read it as it was meant and then it took me longer than I care to admit to see the possible double meaning. I blame working in the legal system.
