How come Silencer gets to be the special guest? He's not travelling THAT much further than me :p

I'm kidding - really looking forward to being there. Going to puchase the flight tickets and train tickets and all the other horribly expensive stuff this weekend.

He gets to be Special because I owe him - big-time! :p

You're special too - just not as special as the special one :p

:p I'd say you don't owe me *that* much, but then my Special Status might be revoked! >.<

Hehe, soooo keen!

Yeah, right. I won't hold my breath 'Giles'

If we are going to put the idea to bed of what kind of identity closest resembles Sombra's brand of masculinity, then my suggestion would be a combination of SS officer and redneck.

Are you comparing me to Prince Harry?

Sounds like some untermensch Yorkies are getting jealous, just because I can carry off the uniform, jackboots and John Deere cap look and you can't. :p

Not lurked for a while but just wished Cougar a happy birthday on facebook and he asked me about this fantabulous bbq that I wanted to come to so much last year - and the year before... :D so here I am, putting my name square on the list as a definite attendee.

I've asked Phillthy (a good friend, semi-lurker and massive SE fan - ofc) via txt msg if he's coming.... well, tell a lie, I actually demanded he book the time off immediately - and not that politely.. :D , and I'm sure he'll want to be there. We discussed it at the Manc TCG book signing and he said to put him down for it as soon as it came up here.

It's a shame Brood can't make it, it'll be cool to see Cougar, SM, Mez, IH and Hetan and Mal again though, and to meet a few more wreckheads. :D

Any advice on overnight lodging is welcome. Phillthy drives so transport isn't a problem and I expect if there's not enough of it heading that way for people he'll be more than happy to help out. I don't fancy kipping in his Mark 5 Kevscort though. :D

As soon as I hear back from him I'll get in touch with Cougar to try and co-ordinate travel arrangements for people that need it. (:D )

Mrs (well, not officially) Messremb may now be along for the Saturday, she's taken (my 10th anniversary virgin) Gardens home with her after years of not reading SE! Well it was that or the Sub-press copy as I can't find my usual reading version, easy choice. Should I insist she read every book before letting her come along :D

Yes! If she doesn't I get the front seat if that lift's still going (it's still going right)
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

10 books in 7 weeks, might be a struggle but will work on her - or provide cotton wool for her to wear all the time to avoid spoilers :D

A lift certainly is still going, front seat too as I'm not planning on detouring to Essex to pick her up! Is Cyphon still wanting a lift/coming too?

Edit: Someone else isn't too far from me too, was it IH?

Well I'm in Bath, which isn't too far from you. I'm willing to go to swindon, or some other destination for a lift if it's going (I wouldn't ask you to drive into bath on a saturday *shudder*)

I'm going to be umming and arrhing on this until like a week beforehand Messremb. So make your plans, and if I decide to come, I'll try to fit in with whatever your plans are, or I can make my own way.

I thought the BBQ didn't really involve talk of the books? My girlfriend has is stubbornly refusing to read the Crippled God until she has finished her reread of the whole series and she's only up to the Bonehunters at the moment :D Guess she's going to need some cotton wool too.

And no one can withstand their slobber.

Or we could just let Mal loose on them with a soapbox

However, you should note that if the discussion involves characters' penises, Cougar will join in with enthusiasm.
