I might not be what you expect :) I'm even more boring IRL.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

ARGH!!

If wishes were horses I'd have a sleigh hooked up to twelve pegasuses and be halfway across the world the week before the BBQ!

Unfortunately sneaking into people's paddocks and sticking chickens to the backs of their sleeping horses with duct tape doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere but trampled :)

Aight thanks for the tips, guys! Just something further, as I need to book the flight within the next few days to be able to actually afford it... what time of arrival would be... best? Morning, afternoon, evening?

Most people tend to get there in the early afternoon, so unless you want to fly over the day before and stay somewhere, a fairly early morning flight is probably best.

It appears that it would be too much of a strain on my finances, sadly. I'm afraid that I'll have to take back my words and say I won't be there :)
Next year, however, I will. Properly, too.

Yeah, I've got quite some experience in letting girls down. Not that I like doing it :/ Let's just say I thought I was a bit more affluent than I am right now. Seriously sucks.

Gatekeeper, how many girls are on the forum at all, then narrow that down to Europe ( for handyness sake) then factor in wanting to go to a BBQ with a load of BBQ people. Resultant number is about 4, alas all spoken for. Not the place for a date, no :gando:

I'm going with the usual response - Want to come, can't afford to go.

However, next year the significant other will be a full fledged doctor and I will have money to spend so I shall aim for 2012 instead.
