Probably 2pm for me.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. It'll be great to see you too Hetan. =D

I've been looking forward to this since the Manc book signing in Feb. I apologise now for what I'm afraid may descend into drunken lunacy, I may, however, behave myself. We'll see! Posted Image

Indeed! I think I'm catching a 10:30ish train up to Cambridge, so should be there before 12. Will text you details and arrange something later in the week, perhaps? Or we can PM, it's probably cheaper. :no

If you're there at 12 ish you will get to ride in the penis extension :no - better than riding on it I would think.

I'm confused I thought my car was the penis extension? You will not get a ride either on it, or in it. It's full and not there till Saturday.

To recap: I've got Eeekdribble, Capt. Venereal Disease, The Artful Dogger[sic] and Edward Carson and that's as much as the pride and joy will accomodate.

We are also now on this strange island you call the UK. Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. Hetan, I'll PM you must of our details, although if there is a lift in from Cambridge again on Saturday after we've done some siteseeing that would be great. I'll provisionally say that we'll do whatever Dag is doing, provided there is space for two more. Else we're getting the hang of the public transport thing and have no problem resorting that.

If there are no free Malazan taxis at 14:00, I can PM you my mobile number and you could either share a taxi with me and Stone Monkey (it takes some 20 minutes and costs approximately 25 GBP) or we can all try our luck with the city bus (goes every 20 minutes, takes some 40-45 minutes; can't find the exact price online, but if a Dayrider Plus costs 5,40 GBP, then one-way ticket shouldn't be more than 2,60 GBP).

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I seem to remember that the bus ticket cost me about £3 one way last time I used it to get to Hazels, but that was a couple of years ago so it has probably gone up. You have to be wary of applying logic to UK bus ticket prices, it very rarely works.

The bus prices have gone up I'm afraid - but I don't know how much by. I would assume £5.00 for a one way ticket and I doubt you will be far out.

Fid - yes please if you could do a run to the station that would be great. It may well be that two cars go to the station at either 1pm or 2pm currently so I need to know what times people - so please please please - those who need to come from Cambridge would you put down in this thread what your anticipated time of arrival is? Then I can work out how many and at what time - currently it's like trying to unravel a very tangled ball of saltworms and I don't have Quick Ben's mastery over the little buggers.

Currently Mezla is arriving around 3.15 and getting a taxi which she will hopefully share with any other later arrivals?

Dag, Stone Monkey at around 2.00pm? Alt 146 and SO at around the same time from their romp around Cambridge?

Illy et al - what are your planned arrival times?

Lift back along with SM and Dag at 14:00 for the two of us sounds fantastic, thanks.

The current plan for me is to be picked up at Cambridge station around 3pm by Messremb who is bringing Illy and IH. Any complications and I'll get a cab. If anyone else is going to be late and would like company when finding their way to Hetan and Mal's place, speak up and I'll be the official shepherd of the stragglers.

Looking forward to it y'all :no

As mezla says I'll be arriving at some point with messremb and Illy. Assuming of course that Illy doesn't get us arrested for carrying an offensive weapon.

He has managed to avoid arrest so far despite the offensiveness of his weapon. Or are Cambridge police more easily offended?

Change of plan in Mezla land. Mr PigDog's plans have changed which means he'll be able to drop me off at Hatfield station which means I don't need to go through London which means that I'll arrive earlier (hurrah!). Basically, I'm an organisational liability and I will take care of myself in the transportation to Hetan and Mal's place. I will hopefully be knocking on the door around 3pm.

Messremb, no need to pick me up at the station, you guys should head straight to the house. Thanks!

If anyone else thinks they may want to jump in my cab around 2.30pm, then send me a PM. I'll be paying for a cab regardless so I'm happy to stump up the cash if you're skint.
