How was the Penguin ruined by Tim Burton?

It was kind of ruined by Tim Burton in his Batman Returns movie since Penguin has never been as insane, and as sadistic as he was in the comic.

Penguin was never put in Arkham Asylum because he wasn't as crazy as other guys (i.e. Joker, Mad Hatter).

I believe that Batman Returns that Burton can make an entertaining Batman movie without even reading a Batman comics. You can see this as Catwoman grabs Batman's uh... lower section.

The comic book version of Penguin was ruined, but the movie was still very entertaining.

Been listening to the soundtrack, which is fucking EPIC. Desperately trying to find someones who's not busy at the weekend to go and see the film.

I watched The Dark Knight yesterday, too, just to prepare.

I've got BATMAN BEGINS on tap tonight, and Mrs. QT and I are going to watch TDK on Wednesday night in prep for our early Saturday screening of TDKR.

Also is Bane the only baddie in this one?

I think Gotham is the baddie in this one. As far as I can tell Bane spends his time turning Gotham against Batman.

But yeah, I don't think you can call Catwoman a baddie here. Sure it looks like she's a thief and on the opposite side of the law, but in the end it appears she's good natured.

So yeah, I guess technically Bane is the only baddie.

What capacity Ras Al Ghul shows up in (cause we know he's in the movie) is still to be seen.

Entirely possible. Not too sure. Considering who he is, it's not at all impossible that he shows up alive after all these years as well. And there is the rumor that Talia is in this one. Only a few days time will tell.

The one movie I've really been excited for this year. Hoping I can see it within the first week that it's out, but that means finding someone to watch the kid for me and the lady, which is a pain in the ass.

Excited as hell to see Bane in action as well as to just find out how Nolan ends it all. Being Batman seems like it's going to destroy Bruce, and yet at the same time it doesn't seem like he can walk away from it. To me, this suggests that being Batman will end up killing him, but I'm not sure...seems like it'd be a bit too obvious.

Well there are spoilers going around already so EXERCISE CAREFUL BROWSING EVERYONE
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

So Rush Limbaugh thinks this film is the culmination of a 19-year-long prophecied liberal plot to destroy Mitt Romney

You can go fuck yourself I literally noticed this and was going to post it :)

Early reviews have the same 'cant understand Bane' problem which I may struggle with.

Me and the misses watched BB and TDK back to back on tuesday (yes I may marry her as this was her idea) and you realise how good old Heath Ledger is

I saw it today and I had no problem understanding Bane. The voice threw me at first though, because I'm pretty sure it was dubbed in, but I think it's supposed to.

Saw this on Christoper Nolan's Wikipedia page today though, and it made me laugh. Not really a spoiler at all, but I'll spoil anyway:

Nice call on both soundtracks.

Also re-watched II, and Heath Ledger was beyond amazing. My favorite scene in the entire series is still The Joker sticking his head out of the cop car as its going.down the road, and it just goes all silent for a few seconds. Can't even grasp why, fully.

I think Heath Ledger was just too young to have made it to be as great as he was going to be had he lived. I think this role would have been the beginning of a career SOMEWHAT along the same path as Johnny Depp, with quirky roles and such. I can't sing his praises enough.

I thought it was fucking brilliant. I only missed 2 words Bane spoke, but besides that had no problems.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was suprisingly perfect. Christian Bale does the reg performance. Michael Cain kills it.

Plenty of twists to keep it going too. Just a great film. Officially my favourite trilogy.

(ALSO I LOVE JGL! GRRRR)

Also, all you punks frothing over Ledger don't know shit. I was loving his skills back when he was a gay bike rider in SWEAT. He was great as soon as he was on the screen, any screen.

I've always thought Heath Ledger was great. I was just saying to those people who may not have realized it like I did that had they not yet, they would soon, for I think he would have blown up huge after his Joker performance. It was possibly my favorite role by any actor, ever.

I even loved Ledger in A Knights Tale, odd little flick about a golden haired, gorgeous commoner turned Leet Knight.

I also like the small weird roles he did like in Monsters Ball. He plays the tormented guy so well.

I liked his movie The Order, and Four Feathers was only ok.

In sum, I loved Heath Ledger. He was near my top favorite actor.
