Okay, so I'll throw you a bone. Paran is on a continent...

Now, as to which one exactly, that's a shitter.

Let's just say that he wasn't where I thought he would be...

I think Paran is where a piece of the cripple god is. TGC is the end of the series, which would imply that we see the end of the cripple god in one way or the other. Some pieces of him landed on Korel, those are taken care of, the heart is in Kolanse and Tavore is going for that. However pieces of the CG landed elsewhere as well (or so I think), these need to be cleaned so I think Paran is mopping up the last CG bits, which if I would guess would be on Jacuruku. Another guess would be Genebackis, the home of the Treblor to be precise to fight of the childern of the unbound.

The Malazan universe is vast, eh? So perhaps an entirely new continent we simply haven't heard of before. Either that, or he's in Letheras, wanting to get to Kolanse to deal with everything, but has become too distracted by Tehol and Bugg....

I think it's rather futile to try and narrow it down, we'll probably never guess right. Pat's likely being very tricky with his wording (bastard :p), and he's not anywhere we've seen before. Or maybe he is, who knows, but the fact Pat stressed the word 'universe' leads me to believe he might not be in the realm of Wu at all.

Paran is indeed on a continent, not a Warren or some other magical realm...

To me, the Letheras option is not entirely unfeasible (notice I'm not saying it's likely - I'm done with guessing) if only because it would make a certain kind of narrative sense. It's a way to keep the cast in Letheras (Tehol, Bugg, Seren and anyone else I may be forgetting) in the limelight without it feeling too much like SE is backtracking from whatever's going down in the Wastelands/Kolanse.

Although Pat said he isn't in a warren, the Imperial Warren is technically a continent isn't it (even larger than the piece of Jacuruku still left on Wu)? That could explain why he "landed in trouble" if he has encountered the KCN there when he speaks in TtH. Although Iccy sealed the portal the KCN used to get to Wu in DoD, they weren't all defeated and I think they still need to be taken care of with finality. A piece of the CG could be in there somewhere as well since the mages called him down on Kallor originally. Also, since Errant and co. are heading for Korabas who is in the IW, and a conflict between Errant and Paran is obviously coming, it could be a natural choice.

EDIT: As shown in MoI and DG, the complete layout of the Deck of Dragons/Holds that depicts all the realms appears to be even larger then what we have seen so far so my crazy theory is that the host has traveled to the Crippled God's/Jade Giants' homeworld.

Or he never left 7C. Don't have to return if ya never left. Then again, i'd have no idea why he and the Host would stay, but i always liked 7C, so more story there would be pretty cool. I imagine i am very, very wrong though! :p

Wild guess: he passed through some kind of Azath portal (like Shadowthrone and Cotillon, which disappeared for a few years), and is in another realm. More specificaly: in the world of Jadeite Statues, and motherland of Crippled God.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Well, if he's not anywhere near Kolanse or Assail, then I'm betting he's on Jacuruku or the western part of the continent of which 7C merely is a subcontinent. I don't think it's Korel (Stonewielder spoilers):
Spoiler

Of course, it could be Lether as well, but I'd consider that pretty near Kolanse, which contradicts pat's statement.
'None could guess my confusion, my host of deluded illusions and elusive delusions! A mantle of marble hiding a crumbling core of sandstone. See how they stare at me, wondering -all wondering- at my secret wellspring of wisdom...'
'Let's kill him,' Crokus muttered, 'if only to put him out of our misery.'

He's in Stratem.

That's just a guess, btw.

Four Books and 380 pages into The Crippled God and it's still pretty good.

Can't say for sure, but this has been my fear since that ICE interview, when Esslemont mentioned that he was meant to write a book that would serve as the epilogue to Erikson's series and that that book could potentially be turned into two volumes.

And well, it does appear that, unless SE has quite a few surprises left in store for us in the second portion of TCG (God knows it could well be the case), quite a lot of storylines won't be resolved let alone mentioned before we reach the end of the book.

I have a feeling that TCG will be an ending (that of the Bonehunters' plotline and those connected to it), but that we may have to wait for ICE's epilogue to discover the ending at large.

Time will tell...
