Hoy crap!

575 pages into TCG, and the last two chapters were filled with quite a few "fuck me" moments. I guess the shit is about to hit the fan! :p

There's nothing in this thread that can be classed as a spoiler.
You don't know from what Pat has posted if he's just messing with your groove or not.
I'll keep an eye on the stuff that gets posted and deal with anything that is not appropriate.

As I've been telling you since RG, Hetan, you're no fun! :p

Making sure that spoilers don't get around is one thing. But preventing me from messing with the minds of everyone here, surely there is no call for that!

Patrick

Sadly, I have to agree with you on the first point.
and I also agree with the second, but the third point - I'm happy for you to mess 'em up as much as you like - I did say they would have no idea if you were or were not playing until the book is published :p

Four Books and 380 pages into The Crippled God and it's still pretty good.

645 pages into it, and the shit is going down! :unworthy:

Quite a few surprises, too! My initial assessment that too many storylines might be relegated to ICE's "epilogue" books may have to go down a few notches...

How would you compare the craziness to that of other books of the series?

And how many pages is it again? 800 something?

I'd like that question answered too, but no matter how much I pressured Pat, he won't answer (and I don't know why).

How many pages exactly?
What's the exact number of lines each page?

...It shouldn't take more than a minute to check out.

Like me, Pat probably has an electronic version and it doesn't work out the same as it does in a printed book so giving out page numbers etc etc is just pointless.
Of course if he doesn't then just ignore me and he's not saying anything because he can't :unworthy:

Why not take the page number of the hardcover edition of DoD as an approximate - since that one is the *first half* and it was always understood that both tomes would be about same size ? So approx. 900 pages. It is not as if SE had variied that much over the last 5 volumes...

I'm really glad about that. I remember Yellow saying that SE was just paving the way for his friend to continue and I sort of disagreed with him but after you previous post I started to wonder. I knew I should have trusted SE.

Sorry, guys...

I'm sworn to secrecy... Other than teasing you with these little tidbits, SE has requested that anything about the book I must run through him before posting...

About 750 pages into TCG, and I'm in the middle of the biggest convergence of them all. :unworthy:

Good shit!

Just finished the book. Holy shit, that was good! :unworthy:

Still, there are many unanswered questions left, which will probably be answered by ICE's epilogue book(s). But there is enough killer material to satisfy everyone!

One word of advice: If you do have time, a complete reread would probably work wonders. You have no idea about the amount of foreshadowing found in previous Malazan volumes. I'm more than a little awestruck about that, and I wish I'd had time to read the whole series before giving TCG a shot.

Expect my review this weekend. I'm flying to South America on Monday, so it has to go up prior to my departure...

what kind of questions are left over? large, general type questions like, who came first - MD or FL - or whats the deal with the Jade Statues, or small specific questions, like what happened to tays, or what is karsa going to do next?
