Xbox version you can multiplay on split screen I believe. Not sure if you need two game licenses or not.

A big difference is the crafting interface. Rather than picking and putting items in the shape of pickaxes, shovels or whatever, you simply select the item you want from a list and it will craft automatically so long as you have the necessary items.

It sacrifices a bit of the fun of crafting, but makes the interface a million times better for a console controller.

I think they're only really a version behind at this point. I was talking to my buddy that plays it on the PS3 and he was talking about features that were included in the 1.7 family. It's always nice to have the features right when they come out, but in terms of gameplay, 1.7 is almost identical to 1.8 minus a few decoration blocks.

Seems so - I was on a couple of days ago for a few hours and no-one else around. I extended the Realms subscription a little while back, now got 3 months 21 days left on it

Edit: And anyway player activity indicator says you've not been on in at least a week

I started a new game on Xbox playing with my little girl a bit. She freaks out every time it gets dark, always has 1 eye on the sun. I wish I could play on the server with it, but I know it's not compatible.

I'm down for this. Once I migrated to a Microsoft/Minecraft account I was able to see the world.

Realms now offers multiple worlds - I'll switch to a new one tomorrow. Old world will still be there, just needs me to flick between them. Trav, are you okay with that?

I'm currently in a lull between MC binges. Been playing too much Kerbal space program now that the beta is out (it's awesome).

Has there been any indication of realms supporting mod content? That would be awesome.

EDIT -- might be fun to try an amplified terrain map too...though that setting can bring even burly GPUs to a crawl. If you do that it would be good to poll folks and see if they can even run it!

Just have. Can't do Amplified on Realms alas.

It's fine, I tried amplified and even my new laptop can't handle it.
