Dang, is it me or does this seem to be one of the quietest autumn (going into to the Xmas holidays) release periods in recent memory? We're deep into October and there just doesn't seem to be any buzz. Sure there have been some heavy hitting AAA - Deathloop, FarCry, but where is the zip that accompanies the months of Sept - Nov? I guess maybe the CyberPunk hype and fiasco of last year has everyone with video game/holiday release PTSD? Also many games have been delayed until next year that were originally coming out in 2021. Still, it is strangely low-key this year.
Guardians of the Galaxy is out... next week?
Back4Blood came out yesterday. Metroid Dread also out last week, I think, and it's selling pretty well.
Microsoft still has Age of Empires, Forza and Halo to go; BattleField and CoD are coming.
Feels pretty typical as far as AAA releases go, tbh. Also a metric ton of cool indies came out in September, and there's gonna be another wave in November;
I mean, there's no big Sony game, but we all knew that. Kena, Deathloop and Jett are their latest exclusives.
Not sure where you're seeing lack of buzz, there's games of every flavour out there.
The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard

And I want to state that Ment has out-weaseled me by far in this game.
