There's probably going to be a lot of Halo Infinite at that, right? Hasn't 343 Industries cheesed some people off by announcing that co-op and Forge will come later?
It also is the unofficial kick off to Gamescom? Or is it a separate event?
Something I didn't realize - Geof Keoghly is part of Gamescom. Was last year his first appearance? Or was he part of it prior to that?
Oh, and one of the announcements at Gamescom is a new Saints Row game? Um, is that allowed in this hypersensitive, cancel people, outrage landscape we are living in right now?

Gamescom day 1 is live right now.
Two big reveals opening the show.
Saints Row reboot. Cool cinematic but doesn't reveal much.
And a firaxis (Probably X-com) take on Marvel comics called Black Sons.
Cool start.
Edit: Fast Mentalist is fast

Any additional cool stuff announced? I think I saw something about an Halo Infinite date, but if I'm not mistaken that already has been announced, right? Also saw some wise crack about Geoff Keighly liking Hideo Kojima, very inappropriate. I'm going to have to watch a break down of Gamescom later on. How many days is this?

huh, game called Stray Blade announced. Not much revealed in the video, and I've never played For Honor, but it looks like the spiritual successor of that, but heavier on the Soulslike play style. It wasn't clear to me if Stray Blade had pvp modes though.

But to ship a brand new game half finished is just ridiculous. Especially so when those two features form the backbone of Halo.

Stray Blade is a single-Player Action-RPG where you got an anthropomorphic wolf spirit guide. Going for the WOW/Darksiders/Kingdoms of Amalur art-style, which is cool; not a lot of games are doing that. Your job, as the "undying warrior bound to the land" is to kill the ancient God-Kings. Sounds pretty typically Souls-ish to me.
This appears to be Sony's answer to the Ascent:
Also kinda cool was this:
The Steam page is pretty damn cryptic, though. Not sure if this is gonna be a live service game, or a more traditional one.
Future Games Show had some decent updates on games I'm following, but nothing really earth-shattering.
The Gunk is releasing in December; Scorn got a mention in the GamePass sizzle reel with a "Fall 2021" release date.

New looks at Sifu and JETT: The Far Shore.
Sifu is coming sometime in 2022, and I believe in the new trailer they showed a weapon being used? (either Nunchaku or Butterfly Knife?).
And though I've never played No Man's Sky, JETT: The Far Shore reminds me of it. Except your game play is more planet scope with game systems focused on that, systems supporting terraforming and the like it looks like it will be.
[EDIT] Looks like Sifu will be Feb. 22. Dang, February 2022 shaking out to be a busy month. Hasn't there been a lot of delayed games moved to that month?

Dead Space developer stream starting in 10 minutes.
I'm happy the series is back but I hope they don't reboot all the way back to the first games design. I'm too much of a pussy to play survival horror.

I sort of hope they do, the first game was one hell of a ride back when it released.

The conference season continues:
Sony is doing a 40 min showcase next Tuesday. A "showcase", not a " State of Play", so should be pretty meaty, maybe?
THQN (Vienna) is having their own showcase on the 16th. Keighley is hosting, and there's be 6 new games revealed. Dare I hope for Darksiders IV? It's Strife's time to shine.
Also, Tokyo Games Show towards end of the month, straddling the Sept/Oct divide.

The State of Play Sony put on last time was as good as (and sometimes better) then a lot of what E3 gave us. Showcase suggests something even bigger, so that is cool. Hopefully they will show some God of War 2. Also, supposedly there could be something new about Last of Us 2. There was a multiplayer aspect mentioned back when the game was released over a year ago, so possibly they are going to announce that?

Supposedly the MP bits of TLoU2 becomes too big, so they're making a standalone thing with them.
Sony folk are really hyping this one up, so possibly something major coming this time around?
Possibly Squeeenix showing off more of their timed Sony exclusives, as well.

Remedy announced that Epic is publishing Alan Wake Remaster, releasing in October.
Since Remedy earlier said they have 2 projects with Epic dealing with the same IP, safe to assume Alan Wake 2 is coming.
Buzz around the Sony Showcase is that Infamous is coming back.

That would be sweet if Infamous is back. Imagine what they could do with the latest console tech. They could do something really next level like the Spider-Man games, except with Infamous powers.

Lots of people are upset, since this likely means they'll need to wait longer for the sequel to Sushi Ghost.

Anyone played Rebel Galaxy Outlaw?
Or could recommend a decent space game with some different systems and stations to visit, missions to complete and ships to mess around with and upgrade?
I might just boot up Rebel Galaxy again; just wondered if there was anything else out there that I'm not aware of that might scratch that Space Cowboy itch.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I've heard of this little indie project called Star Citizen that might fit you.
