Dying Light 2 not coming in Spring.
Delayed to some unknown date.
I get trying to wait until next gen and all, but if Cyberpunk comes out in September, people are not gonna give a damn about another FPS-RPG with a focus on climbing and making story choices.
Hopefully this comes out in the summer, after an E3 blowout (Squeeenix is publishing it in NA).

Well that's some depressing news. I'd rather someone piss in my Cheerios this morning instead of hearing about that. Dying Light was my jizzzam. I put it up there with the best of this latest console gen. Bummer is piling on top of bummer. But yeah, I think maybe the strategy is to announce these delays so the titles can be released on next gen (PS5 and Xbox.. uh is is scarlet?). If I remember correctly Rockstar released GTA V on PS3/Xbox 360 and also PS4/Xbone at the same time or soon after. They tried to keep putting out DLC for the previous generation but abandoned doing that, and pissed people off (I know I was pissed cause I had GTA V on Xbox 360). So I think with that expirence, the focus is releasing to next gen.

Godfall is looking really nice. I may have to go against my better judgement and get a PlayStation 5 at launch, something I've never done. I've always waited.

Might be worth checking out on EGS, if they work out their storefront issues by then

Is that the deal where PlayStation exclusives will now be available to the PC master race? That's new right?

Nope, that's just cuz Godfall is a 3rd party console exclusive published by Gearbox. And Gearbox likes Epic's money. (Also, the game is using UE4, and publishing on Epic means they don't have to pay for the engine)
There is no official word on what Sony is doing with its exclusives (other than Predator: Hunting Grounds, which IS being published by SIE on the EGS). But info about Horizon and "potentially other titles" coming to PC is still in the category of "not officially confirmed rumours", although the fact that it comes from Schreier, who is citing 3 independent sources all saying same things makes it very highly plausible. But no official word yet, so I'm not getting too hyped up for anything yet.

Okay, the love shown to PS Plus subscribers with free games looks like it is going to continue (sweet!). So February, BioShock: The Collection will be free for download, which includes BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite.
I've played Infinite and absolutely was floored by it. One of the things a game really has to deliver for me (as a general rule of thumb) is a great story, and whooboy, did Infinite deliver! and then some! I place BioShock Infinite right up there with the best of the 2010s. I have not played BioShock or BioShock 2. So my question for you gaming fr33ks is, is it a worthy endeavor to play these two previous titles? Will I get any substantive insight into how things finished up with Infinite? Or I am good, just let the experience I've had with Infinite lie as is and don't bother playing 1 or 2?

By playing Bioshock 1 you will understand just how pretentious and non-sensical Infinite really was.
2 is often maligned for being a sequel no one asked for, but in terms of gameplay, it's the most refined of the bunch.

pretensious and non-sensical? I don't agree with that description of Infinite at all.

Ehhhh, 1 was amazingly overhyped so I never bothered with 2 or Infinite.

You should try out Infinite if nothing else for the opening hours, it's awesome.

Infinite was the best in my opinion however 1 and 2 were also superb. But the under the ocean gloomy atmospheric setting of 1 and 2 might feel a bit too dark after Infinite.

Infinite was disappointing in terms of the combat. Reducing the carried weapons to two, like a call of duty game, was frustrating when you'd been used to switching between four in earlier games. And the enemy variety after a while wasn't very varied.

That's precisely because you haven't played the earlier games.
Infinite retcons chunks of prior BioShock canon to fit its own convoluted multiverse theory. And its execution of said reasons is... not graceful.

I have played all three, both when they came out and again when they released the remaster for PS4.

My bad, I though I was responding to Kazooie.
Fair enough. I wasn't the biggest fan of Infinite's story, or gameplay. It's an interesting game, but it's not a good fit for the BioShock formula, imho.

Does anyone know a good alternative to the ps4 controller? My second one is now playing up; the first won't charge as the socket connection is worn out, and my latest now lights up when its charging, but goes red when its unplugged and won't work. I don't really want to pay full price for another one of these.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Infinite was a bit too long, maybe 25% in time. But I loved the game, story was very cool as well.
