Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (which is the Uncharted titles 1 - 3) are January free games for PS Plus subscribers. So what's the consensus? Should I grab this collection? I've never played any of the Uncharted games but I've played two of the Tomb Raider games and immensely enjoyed those, and I've heard Uncharted is like that, but on crack. Also, do these older Uncharted titles transfer well to the latest consoles? I'm sorta worried that they may show their age and not represent so well on the latest tech. What say you, oh 'have played everything' video game gurus?

The uncharted games are great character driven takes of a sorta swashbuckling rogue.
However as good as the writing is and the cinematic design can be, the games do show their age compared to The Tomb Raider reboots.
The gunplay can be downright awful in the first game and the enemies always act like bullet sponges.
They're worth playing but I'd play the first game on easy.

Get BL3. BL3 was fun. Outer Worlds was such a letdown.

Borderlands 3 is a boring copy paste of Borderlands 2 with less fun and tired jokes.

I think I've brought this up that past couple of years around this time and you guys seem to poo-poo it away, but I think this year at CES there might be some more gaming news, especally as it relates to the next consoles. I've been too busy to give it a lot of attention myself, but I did see a headline about a PlayStation 5 logo reveal. Any you guys been giving CES this go around more focus? - wanting to absorb any information about gaming? and gaming related hardware? Spill the tea here if you have or are going to.

So I hear Gothic's being remade. I'm definitely going to get it, and I encourage you to try it if you've no stomach for the original.

I could see Sony or MS showing up but I think it's more likely going to be a closed door event. Mark Cerny demonstrating how many polygons are in Kratos Penis or something.
From a marketing perspective I'd expect them to stick to a big reveal and demonstration at a special event of their own chosing where they don't have to share the media attention with other companies.
But MS is already breaking such expectations so who knows.

True. The strategy now a days of all the established players seems to be to keep things insular so they can have full control of the communications/messaging. I anticipate there will be little tid-bits revealed at this 2020 CES however, due to the next gen consoles to launch holiday season this year.
I miss the days when CES was a tech door to door salesman free for all. After which everyone rushed up stairs to check out the latest porn developments that were coming down the pipe-line <<< no pun intended

Phil Spencer did a tweet with a picture of the new Xbox's CPU and Digital Founder's already dissecting it.
I honestly don't know how much "next gen" news to expect. It's on AMD, imho, since they are the ones making the tech powering the new playboxes.
FromSoft aficionados got wind that Sony will be showing "Elden Ring" at a games show in Taipei later this month and they're going all mental over that. Will it actually mean anything new? Or just the same old E3 trailer but with subtitles?
My gut says we won't see much "next gen" GAMES until E3. Tech and specs? Probably, yeah, there'll be a drip feed news cycle to keep the console war hype building.
But like actual games and "next gen" gameplay? Eeeeeh.
Maybe Stadia, at GDC, lol.

Delays. They are starting
FFVIIR pushed back a month (April 10, 2020, PS4 only for a year)
Avengers pushed back 4 months (Sept 4th, 2020, multi-plat).
People are saying Cyberpunk will be next, lol

Cyberpunk 2077 delayed until September 17th. Damn, what a bummer. I had my calendar cleared in April to pour a metric ton of hours into the game. Boooooooooo!

I feel dissapointed I picked up a 1660ti during the holidays, instead of waiting for a 30-series RTX card, since those are coming out in the summer, supposedly. Ah well, Resi2 still looks much more shiny on the new card, so I'm not super-upset. Unless my screen dies anytime soon, I'm still gonna be capped to 1080p for a while, so I really don't need to spend over half a grand on a 4k capable card.
In happier news, 3 sources all told Jason Schreier that Aloy's robo-dino hunting adventure is coming to PC. So that's nice, since I've been saying for years that Horizon is the most interesting looking exclusive either 1st party stable made this gen. (Though now that I've caught the FromSoft bug from Sekiro, I'm contractually obligated to salivate over the prospect of a Bloodborne PC port. It's the law of the internet, apparently). If Sony is gonna adopt the policy of "release our 1st party exclusives on PC a few years down teh line once they're already down to 10 bucks in second-hand shops", I'm all for it and I will gladly give them money.

no, b/c it's already on PS Now.
The buzz is, there's gonna be a native PC version. Since it's using the same engine as Death Stranding (which is releasing on PC in the summer), it sounds plausible enough.
