Anyone played the Beta or know anything about "For Honor".

Hadnt heard anything about it until a friend of mine posted a couple trailers online. Looks pretty sweet, but i know nothing about it.

I'm signed up but haven't received an invite yet. From what I've heard the public reception is fairly positive.

Oh it can still manage to crash and burn. It has an enormous budget from all the crowd funding. Like the equivalent of 2-3 big AAA.

If that game isn't the second coming of space Jesus the Internet is going to boil over.

I'm just surprised there are enough people with a machine powerful enough to play the flipping thing. It's an absolute monster!

Two Medieval games due (at the moment) to be out in 2017. I love this stuff and they've both been in development a while now.

Mount and Blade - Bannermen is a kind of prequel, as they didn't want to redo the previous pc incarnation and don't want to head into the gunpowder era so they've gone early medieval which is fine by me. I loved the original and played a lot before my pc died - it will be interesting to see what they improve in order to bring it to the console market.

Deliverance - Kingdom Come seems to have been on the way for ages. 'Realistic' melee, full scale battles, hundreds of weapons and a tendency towards being as historically accurate as possible - could make it awesome if the gameplay is there, or dull as hell if not, I don't know enough about it yet. Still, looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I want it to be great but I have worries. Will the solo campaign actually be a game or just a multiplayer tutorial? They changed their promises and now even the campaign requires always online DRM nonsense.

Yeah, I saw that. The gameplay looks sweet, but the more i read about it and the single player mode, i'll probably just stay away.

Unless all of you start raving about how awesome it is.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

So apparently Square Enix and Marvel announced a joint project based on the Avengers.

Crystal dynamics (the studio behind Tomb Raider/ Legacy of Kain) and Eidos Montreal (the guys behind the new Deus Ex's and Thi4f) are both involved.

Those two are the only two forthcoming games that I'm really interested about. The concept of Kingdom Come is absolutely awesome, I'm just afraid it might be too slow-paced overally. Also last time I checked the combat seemed too disjointed but really maybe one just has to get used to it and it becomes faster and more fluent with some skill and experience. Also it's set in Czech and developed by czech studio which is really nice. Alas I don't expect to be able to run it in the near future, especially sinece so far it seems to have terrible optimalisation even for an alpha.

Bannerlord I'm really looking forward to, I spent quite some time weith Warband too. Also, the mods, haven't looked closely at that yet but there are already quite a few of them in development. And I really like the custom weapon forging feature.

Deliverance is an uncertain one. They've certainly done their research, and are so into the era that they've been making the towns and landscape as authentic as it can get, even down to the art in the churches.

But how well it will play is anyone's guess.

Bannerlord I'm looking forward to as it promises a more polished, fuller game than previous incarnations - and it was a blast before, I spent hours on Warband. But it did get repetitive on the rpg front, evenwhile the battles were still good fun the infrastructure lacked any real depth.

Still no release dates for either as far as I can see.

They're certainly not bringing anything game breaking but this way they can't really go wrong this way. It's good that they apparently listened to and kept in mind actual players' complains and suggestions about previous games, the siege improvements being the biggest proof of that, the sieges weren't exactly the most fun part of the game. And since they're taking their time the game should be true to the developers' visions and properly finished.

They haven't put any updates on progress for a few months now afaik. I heard that Warhorse said in some recent video update that the main game's finished and are now in the debugging&stuff phase or something, haven't checked or found the video yet though.

Piggybacking on the mention of For Honored a while ago, I made a thread about the game today with some beta invites.

I play through the tutorial earlier and the game both plays great and looks amazing, even on my old rig. The one thing I really liked about the Souls games is the emphasis on deeper fighting mechanics and For Honored feels like that, but more arcade-like. There's a lot of options and potential tactics to exploit but there's also an accessibility for those who just want to hammer away with a claymore.

I think I am going to be playing the Knight class, since I love medieval knights.

Humble Bundle is hosting a "Freedom Bundle" in support of various American civil rights organizations.

https://www.humblebundle.com/freedom

It's a 30 dollar minimum but the amount of great games in this bundle is ridiculous. Like there are over twenty games in this bundle that I'd say are worth 10 dollars at least. The Witness alone is worth the bundle.

Not to be too pedantic, but only the ACLU is an American civil rights organization.

Lots of Prey preview coverage released today from various sites.

https://www.reddit.c...preview_thread/

This is looking really good. I expected it to be more of a fast paced action shooter like Prey was but this footage and the presentation makes me think more of games like Deus Ex, Bioshock and even Mirrors Edge.
