Two Medieval games due (at the moment) to be out in 2017. I love this stuff and they've both been in development a while now.
Mount and Blade - Bannermen is a kind of prequel, as they didn't want to redo the previous pc incarnation and don't want to head into the gunpowder era so they've gone early medieval which is fine by me. I loved the original and played a lot before my pc died - it will be interesting to see what they improve in order to bring it to the console market.
Deliverance - Kingdom Come seems to have been on the way for ages. 'Realistic' melee, full scale battles, hundreds of weapons and a tendency towards being as historically accurate as possible - could make it awesome if the gameplay is there, or dull as hell if not, I don't know enough about it yet. Still, looking forward to seeing how they turn out.
Those two are the only two forthcoming games that I'm really interested about. The concept of Kingdom Come is absolutely awesome, I'm just afraid it might be too slow-paced overally. Also last time I checked the combat seemed too disjointed but really maybe one just has to get used to it and it becomes faster and more fluent with some skill and experience. Also it's set in Czech and developed by czech studio which is really nice. Alas I don't expect to be able to run it in the near future, especially sinece so far it seems to have terrible optimalisation even for an alpha.
Bannerlord I'm really looking forward to, I spent quite some time weith Warband too. Also, the mods, haven't looked closely at that yet but there are already quite a few of them in development. And I really like the custom weapon forging feature.
