I finished XCOM. Excellent game all in all, and I'll be trying for Classic Ironman next. Poor Stone Monkey, my insanely efficient sniper died at the very end of the last mission. His head was blown of by the weak willed Macros wielding his trusty alloy cannon.

The last encounter was a bitch with low willpower :p Tried an classic and ironman and found it mostly frustrating since everything does rediculosly low damage and our elite troopers cant hit barnwalls guess it gets more interesting later on but getting there seems pretty boring. :p

Secret seems grenades and In the Zone + squadsight.

Still, fuck Macros. Killing SM like that, who had been in every single mission and sported a kill count of over 200. He was the god that all other squad members prayed to.

Pff, mine's modded to remove any chance of team kills on panic.
Because when you're elite veteran sniper that's the best the militaries of the world have to offer panics because someone near him gets shot and doesn't even die. Then calmy turns around and crit hits one of his team mates halfway across the map behind him (away from the enemy), I call shenanigans. If it was a panic shot and they fired at random at whatever was near/in the direction the shot that made them panic came from. And that could hit allies or enemies, I'd be cool with that, but not that shit.

Mod changes a few other things. All in all it makes it a bit more strategic and a bit less luck based.

PS - That was in a friends game I was watching, but cemented in my need to check out some mods. I tend not to have my sniper at the front :p

Trust the Irish guy on the team to kill the one Englishman. I cannot be blamed for you poor will stats. Those are what you were born with. I should have known better, but your aim was too good not to field you.

Dark Souls dlc, Artorias of the Abyss, is well worth checking out if you finished the game and want more.

Worth it just for the new Boss fights.. heads above any other game I've played. The Knight Artorias is a total bastard.. big, and insanely fast, and lots of different attacks, you hardly get a second when he's not going for you.

Took time and patience to get that one finished off - we actually killed each other at the same time, but fortunatly I still got the souls. Awesome game.

Reading Red Country at the moment, makes me want to stick Red Dead back on.. I loved that game too.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Natural Selection 2 is out on Steam. If it is anything like the old game, I will be able to have a ton of fun with it.

Can't reroll anything on ironman. There's no loading from a previous save.

Besides. It suited you well. If Lovecraft has taught me one thing it's that alcohol opens the mind to the influence of outside powers.

I'm in trouble then, I barely touch the stuff anymore.
Maybe that's why I shot SM!

THE END TIMES ARE UPON US

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Holy shit, I'm excited.

I haven't bought Dawnguard yet, waiting for it to have a 50% sale as it didn't look particularly interesting. This, however, has piqued my interest. A return to Solstheim, the location of Morrowind's Bloodmoon expansion? Hell yes! Also looks like we'll be seeing some Telvanni and Redoran architecture as well as the return of many familiar Morrowind foes.

The main story and riding dragons? Eh, don't give a shit about that. Main stories by Bethesda are usually pretty lame and riding dragons just ruins all sense of exploration. Everything else, though, I'm really looking forward to. I hope there's a good number of side quests, but even if there isn't I know I'll be enjoying this DLC for its aesthetics. Everything about Morrowind sends my nostalgia levels through the roof and makes me giddy as a school girl.

I've found a pretty old, amazingly funny game that you never hear anything about.

Space Station 13. Maybe some of you have heard of it but i doubt it, which is a real shame, too.

It's basically a 2D Top-down game on a space ship that is kind of like Mafia. There's a Secret game mode every round which can range from Traitors tasked with stealing items or assassinating targets, to Nuke Squads tasked with retrieving a disk from the Captain and setting a nuke off, before the shuttle is called and everyone escapes. to Aliens invading the station.

There's several pretty complex jobs like Scientist, where you make bombs, murder aliens and steal their cores, and just destroy things for SCIENCE!, or the Clown, where you make people slip out of airlocks and generally try to make people laugh.

More info at the wiki made by the three 4chan servers. http://nanotrasen.co...x.php/Main_Page
There's a skeleton living inside of you, he's just waiting for you to die to be free.

Been playing Hitman Absolution all afternoon. I really like this game.

I've heard a lot of complaints about the game, how it isn't as open and funny as Blood money and how they've slapped on an uncharacteristically personal story on to a character that is usually devoid of personality but seeing as I haven't played a Hitman game since the first one, I can't really comment on that. What I can comment on is the level of detail put into the game in terms of graphics, voice work and atmosphere. The game is beautiful! The story is non-sense but the game is amazing! Not really sure what I think about the gameplay yet. Stealth games are not really my thing and it sort of bothers me that they dangle all these weapons in front of my nose but if I use one I get a score penalty which is bullshit. Just for the hell of it I tried detonating a bomb in the crowd in "King of China Town" and then unloaded all the magazines for the UMP into the huddled survivors. I got over -100,000 in penalties. Pffhh.

Also, if you're the type that will reload again and again to get the right result, then the game is really long. Been playing all afternoon and I've completed 4 out of 20 missions so far.

Just a heads up. The Steam Autumn Sale is going live either today or tomorrow. So you have around 24 hours to sell all your possessions and get a new loan at the bank.

I'm not a big fan of Steam due to the fact that it's DRM software (I prefer sites like Gog.com, but that's mainly older games), but passing up their deals proves to be next to impossible. Not sure I'll be spending much money, though, since my bank account is running close to empty. I am hoping that Skyrim's Dawnguard has a 66% or 75% sale, since I want to play it but I'm not willing to fork over 20 dollars.

Well, an even bigger Christmas Steam sale will launch in a months time so if you don't feel like splurging now you can always wait.

I have perhaps 30 something games on my wishlist currently. I reckon I am going to be picking off the ones that are below 10 euro and letting the rest wait for Summer. This could still get pretty expensive though. For the same reason I have actually created a sub-account in my bank accounts just for Steam games :twoguns:
