Waiting for ME3. Started another Insanity game just to kill time until next month (Sentinel).

Lollipop Chainsaw looks like it could be fun, I'll wait and see what the reviews are like.

I have Kingdoms of Amular. I played for like 4 hours, and am enjoying it quite a bit. Went mage right now, and using Chakrams, and they are a lot of fun. Once I really level up my mage, if there is more story I will start leveling up my might skills and then go battle-mage. If not I will start over on HARD and use a warrior.

I just got the Fateweaver Codex and joined the Warsworn, for anyone who has it and wants to know where I am.

It only unlocks today for me.

Seeing my back catalogue and my decision to buy only 1 game every 2 months, tops, I could purchase it - or wait until ME 3 releases. I played the demo, thought it was decent, but not must-buy - so I am still on the fence for this one.

I didnt even finish ME2, so ME3 is probably going to be a wait for me, which is why I was fine getting Amalur.

As your augments get upgraded the game gets A LOT easier. If you farm for maximum xp, hack everything and you search every nook and cranny then you will have upgraded like 90% of you skills.

Starting out I would invest in hacking levels and abilities that allows you to explore hard to find places, abilities like punching through walls, heavy lifting, high jump, protection against large drops, etc.

Don't bother wasting money on "see through walls" or the more obscure hacking upgrades, they are pointless unless you are going for the hardcore stealth approach.

HAcking upgrades are great. don't listen to Apt, you need to max hacking to make exp farming easier.

for same purposes--get the double take down.

wallpunch is only really useful in several places. I think the only reason I got it was b/c there are several Praxis kits unreachable by any other method.

Wallpunch more than pays for itself praxis-wise, though if you have a picture-based guide and enough armour-piercing/explosive ammo you can break the walls even without the aug's ability to see them.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Still better to take early, though, since, you know, praxis.

eh, ionno.
I maxed out hacking as early as possible, and with my superior hax0rz I was rolling in XP.
by the time I got to
Spoiler
and there were those praxis kits for sale, I looked at my AJ and thought "why do I need any more of these"?

Aye, the last upgrade I ever took was punching through walls, and only because I thought everything else I could possibly take at that time was pointless. I don't think I ever used it, honestly.

I actually upgraded hacking and seeing through walls, then my skin to ignore electricity... never did the jump upgrade... im sure I'm forgetting a lot.

I didn't have any work to do for the first time in a long time today. AND I died in mafia.

So, I played Half-life 2, episode 1, and episode 2.

I had played Half life 2 before, but episode 1 and 2 were new to me.

Why don't they make shooters like this any more? Honestly the most interested I've been in a storyline of any video game I've played. Might be my favorite game(s) of all time, and the ending of episode 2 almost made me shed a manly tear. First of joy, then sorrow.

Hacking is great but like I said the more obscure upgrades are pointless. You don't need to know what is hidden in the bonus node before hacking it for example. Can't remember any more of the pointless upgrades but besides the main upgrade and hacking stealth I didn't really need anything.

As for wall punching like mentioned below, you can get 1 or 2 praxis kids from the severs in the first zone you start in. I think I got at least 6-8 praxis kits from wall punching throughout the game.

I still cant get into it. I think its because the opening hour or two makes it feel more like an interactive film. A bit like MGS 2 with Raiden opening sequence being very video based. Unsure but will still keep plugging away at it.

They're lying to you, Tiam.

It has the most annoying ending in the history of annoying endings!

Besides, nearly everyone I know and every review I have read agree that the first half of the game is HEAPS better than the second half - so it's only down hill I'm afraid.

yes, but I'm not sure if he got to what's good in the first half yet. The tutorial is indeed more of a movie, and the factory doesn't offer THAT much freedom.

it's really Detroit (and moreso, Heng Sha), where the game shines. Heng Sha, in fact, is probably one of the most fun places in a game that i've encountered in years.

oh, and the ending itself is "meh", but it's clearly an homage to IW

and yes, Apt, the only hacking upgrades you need are strength and stealth, but it's best to have those maxed as early as possible.

plus, even you grab wallpunch later, you get a chance to go back to detroit to pick up any praxis you may have missed.
