So im still plugging away and have full strength hacking and am currently boosting stealth aspect of hacking. This makes the game much more accessible and enjoyable as I can actually do stuff. Still not much in the way of action but the plot is ok.
Im probably gonna keep at it and if the ending is disappointing so be it.

Was playing Dragon Age: Origins and got about 40% of the way through but then Kingdoms of Amalur came out so I have put DA on hold (again). However with ME3 coming out soon I don't know how soon I will get back to trying to finish it.
OReally? Hmmmmmm, hope I have enough room in my download cap to get it and can stand putting KoA on hold for a while to play it.

We should point out, Loki is hardly an objective source in this matter.
(Note: I have no doubt as to the quality of ME3 or its beta, but seriously, Loki would love that thing if it was just a 3d model of Garrus. XD)

Just saw a thread on Reddit from a guy who won an auction for a decommissioned World of Warcraft "server blade". The server in question is my first World of Warcraft server, Sunstrider. So much Nostalgia. I would actually have liked to bet on this.

I was playing Farcry 2 before Amalur - haven't finished it yet but I'm far enough into the game to know that I'm going to want to get Farcry 3. The trailer pretty much sealed the deal.

FC2 was a decent game, but lot of the much-touted features were...disappointing. Granted, the first game could feel a bit run'n'gun at times, while FC2 went for a more 'realistic' route (guns jamming, etc), but the fire in 2 was not really impressive, it was IMPOSSIBLE to kill anything with a non-scoped weapon at more than 50m (if you were lucky, you might be able to see them BEFORE they shot you) and the vehicle repairs...my God! If I knew my car could be fixed simply by turning a convenient nut like that, I'd save THOUSANDS on repair costs! >.<
Still, it was an interesting game, though I still kinda liked the whole ZOMGHAVESUPERPOWERS aspect of the first one (well, FC: Instincts - Predator, technically) and the eternal claims of "free roaming"/"open world" that CryTek made still haven't really been met, heh.
Gonna be keeping an eye on this for sure.

there was some gameplay shown at E3.
QTEs are a minus, but I like the first person cover system.
EDIT: this one doesn't show the control prompts, or the UI, the IGN one does.

So many of your 'issues' with games you find lacking all have to do with expectations
I hadn't ever heard of Farcry before a friend bought me Farcry 2 for my birthday so I went into the game with absolutely no expectations whatsoever and while it isn't perfect in everyway I'm really enjoying it.

I have FC2 in the Steam pile. It sounds quite similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R, so I'm looking forward to it.

Well, Loki, if a game promises me - PROMISES ME - 'realistic fire spread' then I am justified in EXPECTING it to DELIVER on that promise.
The same thing goes for games like Force Unleashed. Do NOT promise me 'realistic' material deformation using super-awesome brand-new DMM technology and then make it turn out as a series of pre-cut pieces that just fall apart in one of three different configurations!
And hell, I go into a game like Oblivion or Skyrim with MASSIVE expectations, and they don't disappoint me half as much as these games manage to. XD Hell, I went into Mass Effect with no expectations, loved it. Went into Mass Effect 2 with expectations, and it didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped. Still like the game, it just didn't blow my mind. FC2 I went into with expectations, and it didn't live up to them...and genuinely wasn't a very good game, broken promises aside.
