Daymn those new Nvidia RTX cards are looking sexy. If CAD was still 1:1 with USD, I'd be buying one for sure.
As it stands, I'll probably wait until 2021-2022 and snag whatever's the best ray-tracing card in the 600CAD price range at that time.
Unless my display dies and I'm finally gonna move on from 1080p to something bigger. Then I might have to upgrade sooner.

Oooh, the 3080 is "only" 700 USD. And it releases September 17th. Assuming it's available in Denmark day one I think I'll start collecting parts and assemble a new gaming PC later this month.

I mean... the 3070 is 500 US, and it out-performs the 2080 that currently (still) costs 1200.
It's a pretty big performance leap either way. 3080 is what you'll want for 4k tho, probably.

Yeah, I'm going to hook the PC up to a 55" OLED so 4K is a must. I'm much more interested in visuals than performance usually.

Okay, need some advice. After playing through GOY contenders Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, I am looking for something "indy" feel and more light fare and whimsical before the heavy weight of the AAA releases drop soon. So I am looking at Untitled Goose Game and Spiritfarer. Now mind you, I've read that Spiritfarer deals with some heavy emotions and themes, but the style looks to be right in my wheelhouse. And Untitled Goose Game looks like it is just a hoot (or a honk <<< see what I did there?). So, what should I play, oh unwashed, bezitted, cheeto stained, Mt. Dew Code Red swilling, piss jars next to your "business zone" masses?

Untitled goose game is one of the best games I've played in ages. It's fun to play a cheeky goose.

My son is playing Sekiro. He's been fighting Genichiro Ashina over several days now - and I just watched him, and it's like one of those youtube videos on how to kill the boss. He's mikiri countering his strikes, perfect parrying, and healing at the right moments.
He's finally got him into his lightning phase, and after dying almost immediately for a few goes, he just got him right down to under half his health before dying.
I can't even get him to his third phase at the moment. I'm so unabashedly impressed!

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Nintendo finally revealed their 35th anniversary celebration of Super Mario.
Most interesting, a 3D bundle containing Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy. I never played any of the GameCube games. I might want to check that out.

Lightning Reversal becomes crucial eventually. This is the first time you'[re using it, but it's actually very important to learn.
The scroll that teaches you is in the room with the Ashina samurai mini-boss.

I eventually killed him with very few lightning reversals - getting in close, he gets into a pattern where he can be blocked repeatedly and mikiri countered.
It's so fun watching an 8 yr old just taking him to pieces in his first two phases, now he's learned the right responses. I really hope he finishes him off soon before he starts getting frustrated!

Dude they have reflexes we lost decades ago I wish we still had. I give my controllers over to my son and daughter all the time to use those reflexes lol.
Yep.
He got up early this morning, I heard him call 'lightning phase!' while I was making coffee. Went in, and watched him destroy his third phase and win, on his second try. He just circled him to the left, hitting and stunning him, and mikiri when he needed. And then finished on a mikiri.
My wife kind of eye-rolled at all the fuss, but seriously if you've beat that guy you'll understand.

Beat the game a few weeks ago, but I have A LOT of pics (and I probably could have taken a lot more). Maybe I will make it a "post one every Friday" tradition. Wouldn't that be fun?
Oh, and you damn well already know what game it is, muth3r-truhk3rs!

Post them in the ded thread, I love this game, even if I have been a little distracted by Sekiro lately.

The Xbox Series S leaked and Microsoft made it official:
According to the news surrounding this there was also a price of 500 USD For the Series X. But that's not confirmed I think.
