I assume snuff either refers to murder porn or tobacco products.

This game has a lot of similar mechanics to Kingdom Come Deliverance - but at least in that game, when you're sneaking about you get to change clothes and remove spurs! Nothing quite like watching Arthur 'stealthily' bumping into furniture with his spurs chinking with every step..

I replayed the night out with Lenny. Because it was so goddamn funny.

The game definitely gets you into a 'realism' state of mind. For example, every time I come back to camp, I always make sure to hitch my horse, take off his saddle, then brush, feed, and pat him before I go about business at camp or hit the hay.

Wait. You take off it's saddle? Are there any reason to do this besides switching horses.

There probably isn't a reason to take off the saddle in game (other then as you state, to change horses). But having grown up on a farm IRL, and having been around horses at a young age, it's something you make part of your daily chores. It would be cruel to a horse, if after a long hard ride, you left a saddle on them and didn't take it off after returning them to the barn for rest. So I do it just from memories of my youth. Funny thing is, when you take the saddle off in the game and drop it anywhere in camp, it will always end up right at Arthur's tent.

BTW, without spoiling much, what skills have you guys unlocked for your horse? I've got the bad-ass power slide stop. I love galloping at full tilt and then throwing on those breaks and power sliding before I crash into something.

For personal development for Arthur, my stamina is starting to get up there (been running around a lot so stamina has been advancing nicely). I need to get my dead eye skills up though. Need to use is more in gun fights.

Ha, I take my horses saddle off too. After a trek out and a mission or two, he gets his food, brush and time without the straps on. Because I can, and it seems like a good thing to do!

Swimming is good for stamina build up. I went in the river after hunting, and there were actual clouds of blood swirling off my coat downstream. I need practice at dead eye, the meter is building nicely, but when I use it it seems to multiple tag a load of body parts automatically when I just want a headshot? Not sure I'm doing it right.

Galloping at Full tilt in this game is risky. I was on that mission to rescue Jamie and went over the brow of a hill, smack into a wagon. We both went flying over the top. Fortunately Rebel was ok, he needed some carrots after that one though.

Also... saw a bear in the river. Skirted round him, horse got a little skittish, and while I paused to look at the bear, wondering whether to shoot it or not, wise horse threw me and ran off - leaving me in front of the now charging bear, with a goddamn bow in my hand!

I like the way different length taps mean you whistle, long whistle, or just call to your horse. There's like about 10 different recordings for every action.

Im still on chapter 2, but where has Sadie Adler gone? I've got Sean back, and there are quite a few people around camp, but Sadie is gone. Actually I haven't seen Jack for a while either.

There's supposed to a major bug that causes Sadie, Abigail, and John Marston to disappear from the camp in Ch. 2, preventing you from doing their side quests during that chapter. They return again in Ch. 4. I haven't verified whether it affects me yet.

I don't recall restarting the 'Polite Society, Valentine Style' quest from the checkpoint (which is supposed to trigger the bug). More detail here: 'Red Dead Redemption II' Has A Deadly Bug That's Easy To Trigger: Here's How To Avoid It

Next time I play, I need to see if I'm impacted.

John is in camp, so is Abigail. Sadie was there, mostly sitting on a rock, but she's gone while the others are still there.

Maybe it's bugged but not in the way described above.

Alas, I've been affected by the bug. I guess I never noticed that John, Jack, Abigail and Sadie where at (or missing from) the camp. I think at the time I may have just thought they were off doing something else. I mean, you go into Valentine with Uncle and some ladies (and meet other members of the gang there), so why can't John and co. do something similar?

The interesting thing is, when I finished the Sean mission, John appears at the camp with a side-quest. So maybe the only thing you miss out on is the camp conversations that happen and do not miss out on any of the actual side-quests attached to the missing folks?

It's still a major bummer to me, because it's John Marston and his family (+ Sadie). Which, if you've played RDR1, the conversations to be overheard by them (at camp) might give you some insight where things start and why in RDR1. Anyway, Rockstar is supposed to be working on a fix. I doubt I will wait for it and instead continue playing. Then come back after I've finished the story and start a new game and try and catch what I've missed.

I think I was affected by it as well, as I noticed Sadie was missing for a while. I just assumed some camp followrs would disappear from time to time

Ps4. It looks amazing, unless you have two systems side by side and you're supremely picky you're not going to be disappointed.

Playing certain parts in first person makes for a very different experience. Horseriding, walking through saloon doors, canoeing. Even walking around camp in the morning.

Beautiful rainbow over the valley today. I love how no conversation is repeated, and each character talks about the most recent events. The one time I thought I was getting a repeat, Arthur shut her down with 'I know, you already told me that!' and she carried on a bit, but it was a different script.

I like being able to camp anywhere, brew coffee, repair stuff. Just found an O'driscoll camp in the woods by following the smoke, managed to take everyone out without much trouble, looted some more cards in the process.

Yesterday I spent two hours playing Black Jack. I love that game. Ended with 15x my buy-in.

Any of you guys glitch your horse and get him stuck in the camp? I have. I charged into camp faster then I should have and hit the invisible wall that separates the camp's boundary from the horses' area. My horse gets stuck in this invisible wall. Everyone at camp nearby admonished me to "get that beast out of camp" (or something of the like). So I walked away and whistled for him. He would just kind of hop and jump and try to trot but could not move. When I got on him again, the camp would again yell at me, upon which I'm was forced to get off him. I tried to lead him too, but it was not an option (grayed out). So, I triggered a side mission and it fixed it.

You can always go to a stable and get him back. I rode him into camp once and got a few comments, but he didn't glitch.

I was riding north of the grizzlies earlier, and got surprised by a bear... those things can roar! Also went through a long train tunnel in the dark, when I came out everything was super bright for a few minutes.

I haven't tried nearly enough robbery yet. The most I do so far is steal wagons to sell. But then I ran over a chicken in town and got a wanted level...

Is it easy to hold up trains or banks solo, and get away with it? Haven't attempted it yet.

Haven't held up a train or robbed a bank solo yet. Did a train robbery as part of a side mission. It was a pretty easy job with the handful of the gang who participated. Much like Micah, Sean seems like an unhinged mofo (and we rescued his ass too!). I feel he is going to cause problems eventually.

I love how the game opens up the possibilities to you as you naturally travel about. I was unaware you could even rob a train solo, but as I was riding next to a train on 'Thunder', the tutorial messages start up and explain what you need to do - Slow your horse to match the speed of the train and then jump on. You can then see the passengers you can rob on your radar. It warns against robbing the train as it is travelling through a town, as you will be noticed. I got a similar tutorial as I was clopping by on 'Thunder' next to a stagecoach.

I did end up on a train as part of tracking down one of the gunslingers as part of the quest to get their story for a book. I ended up chasing him on top of the train over the cars and finally killed him. I was screwed though, because the train was pulling into station in Saint Denis (first time I was there) and the murder was witnessed by law officers on the platform. Instead of trying to elude the cops, I decided to try the 'turn yourself in' option for the first time. I did some time in the pokey (the ol' hoosegow Posted Image), was fined and released.

Currently trying to figure out the illicit business operation that is active at the Doctor's Office in Valentine.

I've been aware of that one, but not hit it yet. Well I did, but I went in too heavy and alerted the whole town!

You can hold up the doctor and he lets you in, but what happens next is up to you. My dead eye has improved since my last attempt so maybe throwing knives and remember to hog tie the doctor so he doesn't blab immediately?
