New trailer is up on Rockstar's website. Not really seeing any more information than just the trailer.
And the old trailer just in case you missed it:
So, it seems like you're a gang of criminals on the run. The way I am reading it, they were screwed out of some money for a job and they're tracking down the people that owe them? Sounds like a sensible morally grey motivation for a game where you play as an outlaw.
I am wondering about the kid though. What's that connection? There's a kid in the earlier trailer as well.

I liked that it showed some more areas. I'm glad to see we will be going into snowy, pine tree regions like in RDR. And damn, the music once again is so good. I'm talking ranks right up there with the best of the best spaghetti westerns.
I wonder if the boy is a young John Marston. This is supposed to be a prequel, right?
I wonder if the woman is related to the MacFarlanes. Remeber MacFalane's ranch from RDR?
Also, I wonder in the Free Roam/Red Dead Redemption Online if you will be able to ride double on a horse. I know that is one of the things so many fans wanted. One person to guide the horse and a buddy on back to focus completely on shooting. Could make doing missions like train robberies and just general mayhem killing of other players in the world a lot of fun.

Beat me to it. Funny they should announce it the day I finish replaying the first game

That ending was awesome, was it not?
I'm ok with RDR2 being delayed until October. I mean it would have been nice to get it in June when there isn't much else being released at that time, but it means I can probably do a deep dive on Far Cry 5 and get into any interesting DLC/Expansions for that and other titles. Also, summer is usually when some interesting independent titles come out. And maybe I can try out some games that I've read good reviews about but have not played yet.

Every other publisher/developer must be cursing Rockstar right now. It's impossible to compete with Red Dead Redemption. I imagine games are being moved forward and back on the calendar right now to try and create distance to Rockstar.

Bit underwhelmed by that trailer. I was hoping for some gameplay and presentation of the world. Not just another story trailer.

Well there probably wasn't meant to be a third trailer - and then it got delayed by several months. I'm sure there'll be a more action-heavy trailer just before release.

*insert traditional reminder that Rockstar are bastards for ignoring the PC*
Carry on with the excitement now...

I was hoping there would be game play reveal at E3, but then Apt reminded me that Rockstar doesn't do E3. So hoping sometime before the fall that that they do release some actual game play footage, and maybe talk about any new features and such. It would be odd if they didn't, right?

IGN saw a 45-minute demo of RDR2, here's their comments (no new footage, just two guys discussing what they saw). They confirm John Marston, or 'Scars', being talked about by other characters, but they didn't see him.

Watched the video. Damn their descriptions of what they saw has got me super pumped now. The involved NPC interaction possibilities, the rich economy components, your horse and it not just being a transport mechanism but a richer experience where you bond with it. Damn, I can't wait until October!

I like the way games are now concentrating more on the depth and the little details over graphics, map size and quantity of collectables.
The npc interaction in Kingdom Come adds depth like this - if you've just ridden across the countryside in the rain, been in a fight, or have blood on your armour or sword, you get an instant different reaction from npcs than if you've got clean repaired armour, and washed yourself in a trough or had a bath. Or even if you have a drawn weapon. You even get guards calling you out for not carrying a torch after dark as they think you're up to no good. It's good to see this level of realism appearing more; and RDR was already memorable for its level of immersion.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Searched around and found this. Holy shit, according to this graphic, it's like only a few minutes away. Glad I found this.

Best and most appropriate music paired with a video game, hands down. Love it!

Wow, looks like there's going to be different horse 'types', suited for different tasks. Awesome!
