Thinking about buying Battle Chasers: Nightwar as it's on sale on Steam at the moment.

The Last Remnant from Square Enix.
it's one of those games I always thought about buying, but never got around to. Apparently, next week it's being delisted from Steam. So my somewhat inebriated brain gave in to the scarcity effect.

I caved in to my lootbox-lottery cravings and bought Madden 19 (on PC). I really should not have, because Valkyria Chronicles IV is being released next week, and I am still am heavily invested in completing all achievements for Slay the Spire.

I've gone a bit mad on ebay over the past couple of weeks. I got the two Advance Wars games that were released on DS, the third Golden Sun game, and Luigi's Mansion 2 plus I may sort of/accidentally/on purpose picked up a couple of special edition 3DS's. And I got SteamWorld Heist off the eshop.

As in you returned the game?
I'm playing it now. I like it. However its identical to every other game that has born its name. Its bigger. I can control a squad of ten infantry and 2 tanks at once but so far at least every map has been a single area. I actually consider that a step back from the PSP games which had multiple maps. Although oddly that was forced on them by the PSPs limited power.

Fanatical has a Capcom Sale. Picked up the DMC HD collection for the first 3 games at almost half-off
Also GOG is having a 10 year anniversary sale. Grabbed Fallout 3 + New Vegas to add to my DRM-free pile at 50% off and voted for Shadow Warrior 2 to be a free giveaway game (the other options are Firewatch and Superhot)

I enjoyed Shadfow Warrior 1 up until that 'go up the mountain' level because platforming in FPS games has never worked (ever).

I think platforming in first person games were solved early this decade. They made catching an edge more forgiving or added an animation that allowed the character to save itself.
Games like Far Cry, Dying Light, Titan Fall, Destiny, etc. all do platforming just fine. Hell there are various indie studios that have made whole games around the concept. It's typically not balls hard masocore die over and over again platforming, like I want to be that guy or Meatboy but it works for your average AAA game now.
