Red Faction: Guerilla Re-Mars-tered edition is on sale for 50% off on GOG.
grabbed it, because I've only heard good things about this game (also, I like THQ Nordic putting their releases on GOG, and I want to encourage them to keep doing that)

It was great when it first came out. It hasn't aged well but the core destruction gameplay element remains excellent.

DMC reboot is 75% off in the Fanatical Capcom Sale.
-thinking of grabbing it once I get paid on Fri. The DMC HD trilo is discounted 40%, but I'll wait till the winter sale for that one. I want to play this series, since DMC5 is coming out next year. But this year's action-adventuring will be dominated by replaying Darksiders in order to prep for the release of part 3 in November.

Fanatical has some good deals on WB games.
Shadow of War Gold is ludicrously expensive (130 CAD). Even with a sizeable discount it's still ridiculous (considering I haven't played Shadow of Mordor yet).
But Mortal Kombat XL for 10 bucks sounds tempting.

I'd personally avoid MKX purely because I thought as a fighter it was dogshit - slow, clunky, the combo system is counterintuitive... Next fighter on my list is Under Night.

I was discussing co op games with my gamer mate over the weekend. We've been looking for something different and seemed to narrow it down to Monster Hunter World and No Man's Sky. I bought NMS as it's half price at the moment and shall inevitably pick up MHW as soon as it drops in price.
One unfortunate side effect of the discussion was spending far too much time on Hearthstone, as that's what we ended up playing whilst we were chatting, and I continued with it yesterday. Very dangerous.

Maybe, but for people who are rubbish at fighting games and enjoy ridiculous over-the-top moves and story modes (i.e. me), it was great fun. I enjoyed its predecessor more though, just because the story mode was even longer and crazier. For these same reasons I like the Injustice games this studio have developed.

I'm with you Khellendros. I can barely throw a fireball or put together a combo now a days.
I play fighting games on very easy to see the story or I don't play them at all.
Which actually reminds me I've been meaning to borrow Tekken 7 and the new Street fighter Arcade.

I like fighting games for whisky and fun after a night out. A few people on the couch with a couple of controllers and everyone’s in, including those whom never play anything.

Combos? Don't need combos. Just need grapplers and command grabs.

Oh well. I had it all planned. I was going to finish Prey and the Dishonored DLCs, then play Dishonored 2. But then this sneaked out of early access and is on sale for £9. And it's bloody brilliant

It's quite difficult to explain! It's an RPG, so you create a character, either from one of four archetypes (Pirate, Explorer, Smuggler or Bounty Hunter) or create a completely new one, and you're given a starship, the type of which is determined by your choices in character creation. The ship comes with three officers and a crew (mine has 28 crew members) each with their own skills and traits (and all of which level up individually) which affect the way the ship runs and how it performs during certain situations. You're given an initial mission which you can accept to follow the story, or decline and go off and do your own thing.
There is ship to ship combat and, if you board an enemy ship or land on a planet there may be hand to hand combat, which is a lot like the combat in Darkest Dungeon. You can smuggle goods and passengers, hunt bounties, prey on shipping lanes, blockade planets, spy on the locals, explore new worlds, trade etc. You can upgrade and adapt your ship, or buy a new ship, to suit what you've chosen to do.
There are lots of different factions in different systems and your reputation with them is affected by your actions, so some may pay you to do missions if you are friendly with them whilst others will refuse you help if you're not. The first mission I got was about a terrorist attack on a space station that may or may not have involved a prince's daughter and has two factions on the verge of war and you're given multiple different ways of tackling it. The prince doesn't know if he can trust his daughter's word but wants to try diplomatic solutions with the other faction, she's adamant she's been set up and that a separatist group is responsible, whilst her sister think the other faction did it to kidnap a military scientist who was on the station. You can try and discredit her accuser, or try and track down the separatist she says is responsible, or try spying on the other faction to find out if this scientist exists. And this is just the first mission.
It's quite text/stat heavy but, so far, it seems to be well written.
This video probably does a better job of explaining it than me!

GOG is doing a big Bethesda sale ( I suppose due to QuakeCon)
And apparently Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is actually available on GOG!
Don't know how I missed that, but i'll probably re-buy it this weekend once I get paid.
