You should grab Dying Light. It is excellent. It is what Dead Island should have been (with parkour). All of the side missions are excellent too. A lot of variety and no rinse and repeat trudge like you get with a lot of open world games. Oh, and when you have your first experience when night comes, and you're low level and out side a safe zone, man, that's got to be one of the most tense, white knuckle moments one can have playing a video game.
Not sure if this enhanced edition includes "The Following" expansion, but you should play that too. It opens things up to the area outside the city and introduces dune buggies. Splattering zombies with your upgraded dune buggy has got to be one of the most visceral experiences one can have in a video game.
It's my sophisticated, nuanced and experienced opinion that Dying Light is one of the best (maybe in the top 5) titles to be released on current gen systems.

Yeah, the Following is included.
I'm pretty set on grabbing it, and Friday is payday, which helps to sway my decision-making.
The parkour is a big selling point, since I loved Mirror's Edge. And nights sound like they can recapture that magic of being stuck in a field in a middle of a lightning storm in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with bloodsuckers hunting you where all you can hear is their heavy breathing, seconds before they clamp onto the back of your head for an insta-kill.
Editagain: "Lords of the Fallen" is 80% off on Steam. At that much of a discount, I can't resist.

Hmm. I've been tempted by that several times when it's been under £5 on the PS Store. Was also tempted last week when the same company's The Surge was going cheap. Hmm.

In light of the lootbox controversy of last year, I find GOG's latest trick amusing.
This sale (St. Patrick's Day), they are selling "leprechaun hats" , for about 3.50 CAD each. These can be exchanged for a random game that's not yet in the purchaser's library, of equal or greater value.
The point of the incentive is, (according to them), to introduce players to games they'd otherwise never hear of.
I "gambled" like that yest and got this old Black Isle isometric RPG "Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader" (current sale price: 6.30 CAD), so technically I saved money.
I might do buy a hat a day and see how it pans out.
Technically, this IS gambling (I think). But it appears the odds are rigged in the consumer's favour?

Payday today, so bought it.
Also picked up "Ghost of A Tale", an animated stealth-RPG starring a mouse. The guy who made it used to be an animator @ Pixar, and the whole thing gives off ridiculous NIMH vibes, so I basically had to have it.

Speaking of Dying Light, I bet we're going to be seeing a pre-E3 teaser for a sequel any day now.
I think Techland knocked the ball out the park with Dying Light and the Following. Can't wait to see where the sequel goes.

Question for retro afficionados:
Is the Enhanced Edition of Baldur's Gate worth $$$ if I already own the original?

Assuming you've modded the original, probably not. For ease of use on new PCs etc it's great, though. Same for Planescape Torment EE.

Planescape from GOG runs fine on Win 7. I'm presuming so would BG.
I own the all of the Black Isle classics from an old sale, but since Beamdog started putting out their enhanced versions, the originals are no longer available for sale.

Sounds like you've pretty much answered your own question. GOG are pretty good for getting things to work on Win 7/10. That said, I spent ages following the instructions to mod the original Planescape (which I got from GOG) so that it would run at higher resolutions and still wasn't happy with it. Having those sorts of options from the moment you start the EE is lovely, especially for anyone who hasn't played the games before, or for anyone like me, who doesn't want the hassle. I'd recommend looking at some of the videos of the EEs running and see what you think then.

Also, GOG is having a ridiculous sale on Saints Row 4 Game of the Century edition, so I picked that up. As well as an old RTS called Tzar: Burden of the Crown. I recall seeing that in retail in early 2000s. It's like a Warcraft II clone, but with hero units, so I'd like to check it out.

I picked up all the DLC for Galactic Civilizations III on sale the other day, plus the new expansion.

Loads of sales this week.
GOG is discounting the "150 most wishlisted games". Although I own most of the RPGs, I'm considering picking up the original Divinity: original sin.
Also, Fanatical (formerly known as Bundlestars) is offering really cheap Steam editions of a bunch of games. Only thing that's interesting/not yet owned by me is the Homefront: Revolution, so I might grab that.

Finally bought a Playstation Pro. Got a bundle with Far Cry 5. I'd have gotten one with God of War instead but only options I've seen for that is the butt ugly collectors version of the PS Pro.
So far it just seems like an updated sleeker PS3. I love the new controller though. It's close to being as comfortable as the 360 controller.

Hey Apt. You probably need some time to have an opinion about the improvement, but I'd like to know how you feel about the PS 4 Pro with your 4K television. In other words, does it make a significant difference and is it worth it? Because I've been thinking about upgrading to a 4K/Ultra HD television and PS4 Pro.

I'm not really equipped to answer that question properly, since the visual presentation is as much about the hardware as the screen and I've been playing on an ageing PC on an ancient TV for ages.
But, playing some Farcry 5 the past couple days, I can definitely say that the game looks better than anything I remember playing on my PC. Maybe that's just the Pro running the game in a better optimized version than my PC on medium or maybe it's that OLED crispness mixed with the HDR.
I would definitely argue that if you're into games and you have the money, you owe yourself to get the best performance and visual experience at hand.

God of War downloaded and ready to go - just waiting for it to unlock at midnight. I'm vaguely excited

I'm tracking God of War's price changes. I'm hoping to see some store drop it below 350DKR before the weekend is over.
That's the worst thing about going from PC to console. The prices are always higher.
