Hello,

I joined the forums because I had some questions about GotM, it's not easy to fully understand what's happening all the time. But I'm really liking the book, which is good, because I was having trouble finding a good fantasy series to read while I wait for the next George Martin book :(.

Good to see you here, Belgerog, and yeah, most of us find it confusing :( I've answered your questions in the GotM forum as best I can too, but I'm by no means a brain here.

Hi all, my name is Ryleigh, and i just joined. I've been a big fan of Erikson's for 3 1/2 years now, and while doing a book review for english about House of Chains, i had to look for more books that he did, and i was linked here, so i thought i'd join to have any questions asked :)

Doh :) just noticed this thread, nice site with a fuck tonne of info to wade through.

Found it looking for a precies of the first 7 books as I am reading them via my library (I gave up buying books 15 years ago but I think I might make an exception this time), and waiting a year or more between books isn't helped by my swiss cheese memory, was suprised to learn about the ICE books and novellas will have to track them down.

Read GotM when a flatemate threw it at me and was imediatly hooked.

Hello Hobbes,
there is nothing nicer than reading a Malazan book (or 4) to keep one warm as the deep freeze moves from province to province, welcome, Catherine

I thought it was impossible to get confused in the New Member thread. The last two posts prooved otherwise. Welcome Catherine/Hobbes, Souless, Seguleh, Ryleigh (pronounced, Riley, yes?) and other new members.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Sorry, it is a Canadian thing, subzero temps are spreading across the country tonight and reading a great book helps pass the time in the great white north, Catherine

I didn't get why you simply quoted his/her greeting. But, now I do. Crazy Canadians, eh? Welcome, eh!

Out with the old and in with the new I say :) . Welcome one and all, may I suggest the Pheonix Inn and discussion board, it's where we talk about the world beyond the pages of the MBotF.
