The State of the Game...

Is fucking confusing. How many damned scum are out there? 2 > 15< That helps. I have a feeling this game was set up scum heavy to make things interesting, putting town at a massive disadvantage. It that's the case, fair enough. Makes it certainly interesting for town players.

Stupid new alts makes it impossible for me to post my suspected scum list because I don't remember half of them. :harhar:

I'll try anyways:

Atrahal
Karosis
Silanah

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Okay, so people claiming that a vote for somebody who is scum doesn't PI them because enemies of my enemies are my enemy doesn't apply in this instance? I think that might be confusing.

might be a spur of the moment thing, but what is intended to be said by Karadkt is that in this game, scum doesn't know one another and has to eliminate one another, so scum will vote scum (and won't know they're voting scum).

Looking at Hoosier's change of prov makes me wonder - when I'm playing a finder or a guard I tend to ignore the players that are getting a lot of attention. I figure if they are scum, they'll either slip up or they will draw someone else's prov to them. Then, if they're scummy and still around on the 3rd/4th day I can check them out then. i.e., why prov silanah?

Is this poor strategy?

I have a sick wicked feeling that something wickedly strange is going to happen this game. I approve. It should make things fun. Hopefully I won't be town-killer.

So, I might be drunk. And by might, I mean mightily. I'm going to have to learn all the new dragalts. That's not fun. Not at all.

But, a big to Drek for her work on all of them.

I should probably be sleeping.... meh.

Mod thoughts:

Actually, when you think about it, the game is pretty straightforward.
No fancy new roles or anything, it's essentially m&p with killers going against one another (until a power role is lynched).
Even the teacher does nothing but spreading time honoured mafia roles around, and the killers, no matter how many actions they accumulate, can take only 1 of them per night until they nail an ambidexter, who, by himself, is quite useless - an RI who must hide for as long as he can.

What is making the game tense is mostly the player speculation regarding roles and the time pressure due to the sheer amount of kills. It seems very likely that we're down to 10 players by the start of day 3.

In my not so humble opinion: not exactly.

He's unsure how to play guard in this game, as he is aware that this isn't M&P. He knows there is a lot of power out there, also on the inno side to counter the 4 NKs which are likely to be caused by scum. There is a number of inno roles around, and he probably figures that most of them are laying low. More so, he has clearly decided that he NEEDS to guard now to give inno's a chance (he's right about that), and can't wait till the end-game.

By picking a vocal target, he probably thinks that he'll nail either a nothing-to-lose RI or passive-power RI (BP, counter-kill) or the vocal part of a lover/finder group or something (who can suffer a guard on one of the two and still see their action go through), or an active, high profile killer who is trying to lead the lynch group. It might be the very same reasoning why Gem picked Sil as her finder of choice.

When you go over the Provisional list, it is simply staggering how many provs targeted Morgy, so HD is hardly alone in his suspicion :harhar:.

I think Karosis might be Shin? And Fener is possibly M45? Probably totally wrong on both, but it's fun trying.

My game plan, such as it is, is to try not to sound like me...so to be really confident and self assured...present cases and actually vote on my own cases . That way they won't think it's me and they hopefully will think I have nothing to hide...I'm pretty sure everyone will think Korlat was me anyway. Of course the whole set up, that we know of, in this game makes the usual rules of how scum 'should' play pretty irrelevant...but there are a few who seem unable/unwilling/big fibbers about being able to get out of the normal mind set....personally I think they are being big fibbers and know perfectly well that the normal 'rules' don't apply.

But that's what I'm saying - if someone is suspicious, I don't target them because I assume others are. I realize if EVERYBODY does that, it won't work out, but I don't htink most people play like that.

Well, sometimes, it pays to be certain yourself. It's all swell if player X seems scummy and gets targeted by finder Y, who learns he's inno, but who is to say Y doesn't get killed or lynched anyway before he can convince others/reveal? Then, at some point, yuo will either lynch X because he still seemed scummy, or investigate him after all :harhar: Especially if a player seems capable of leading the pack, you might want to know whether or not he is trustworthy.

The finders in this game are doing that (Morgy is both trying to get a lynch on Kesso as well as investigating him) - the 3 of them, if they survive for a day or 2, will have scanned the full playing field. But they are unaware of one another, may investigate the same people, it may be the guys that they've investigated that die, et cetera.

Also, HD is a guard. He won't know if his action actually did something, but the impact is big. As a result, it isn't a bad choice to select the person he thinks is most likely to be a killer, as opposed to the 'possibly scummy guy in the background'.

All right..

Karatallid is dk, and I still think he's partnered to Ampelas, which makes them lovers by my guess. Perhaps the lover turned vig thing if either dies.

Gamelon is still HD still
Atrahal is Vengyboy
I wonder of Anomandaris is gem
Eloth is more than a little daft

Kessobahn strikes me as the likeliest candidate for killer, though vengyboy could very well be one as well.

3 out of 5, not bad.

Aaargh...not a complete freeze please? The weekends (except when I am not here!) are the only opportunity I get to play over an extended period. Mod kill freeze is a good idea, but please don't halt the game. I know, I know, it's what the majority want that counts...stupid democracy .

It's a benevolent, enlightened dictatorship :harhar:

One of the fun side effects of staying in our alts is that there could be 5 players watching the board, and 3 of them are dead. ;) So people will start complaining "Why isn't anyone posting!"

Duh-dum-dum-duhhhhhhh

Bent is back!

After a shot of steroids to fight off the poison, and then a couple of pills to stop the itching, I passed out for 14 hours and feel better today. Just want to throw in there that Hetan is going to pm PS if they decide to shut down the site for the upgrade, she will do this 24 hours or so before the shut down.

Also, I love lamp and carpet and ate your chocolate squirrell!

I vote for modkill timer frozen but game continues a-pace. Frankly, I'm really bored this game and have no willingness to see it proceed longer than it has to.
