Announcement to players:
This game does in no way resemble the movies, the series, or whatever fanology has been created on the internet.
The name Highlander has purely been chosen for ‘you kill someone, you absorb their powers’ concept, and the awesome line ‘There can be only One.’ Both of these I’ve borrowed, nothing else is related.

The seven Commandments of Highlander Mafia:
There shall be no story or character names.
There shall be no asking for a mod-kill. Mod-kills happen upon breaking a rule or failing to post for 36 hours.
There shall be no quoting or paraphrasing of P-S’ PMs.
There shall be no player names upon CF.
There shall be no posting by dead players in Spoiler Heaven on main forum alts.
There shall be no waiting for people to turn in provisionals/ night actions.
There shall be no discussions on rulings or balance with the mods, even if you feel the game is broken.

You break any of these, and you shall die an agonizingly slow death in the fires of the Mafia Hell.
Since you go to Hell, you shall not go to Spoiler Heaven. We’re going to be bastards about this.

Order of action resolution: Guard – Heal – Find - Kill
There may be other roles in the game that resolve as if they are one of the above actions. This will be disclosed in that player’s PM. Before you start moaning: this is high TMDI, baby.

Victory Condition:
Scum: last man standing.
Town: eliminate all scum.

There are no other victory conditions.

For easy fakeage, we are going to provide you all with the Roleless Inno PM. This is it:

Roles:

1 in 7 players is scum, plus one more
3 in 7 players receives a town role, chosen from the list below, in the following order. Then, 1 Teacher is added.
All the remaining players are Roleless Innocents.

Town role division:
First batch: Finder, Guard, Ambidexter
Second batch: Healer, Vigilante, Bullet Proof
Third batch: Bulletproof, Finder, Guard.
Fourth batch (28 players only!): Vigilante, Healer, Ambidexter

Scum PM:

Scum.
You can take a single night action.

Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can kill another player by sending his alt to the mods.

Every time you kill someone successfully, you absorb all of that players powers. If they had a single or limited use, these will be refreshed for you.

Victory condition: you only win once you are the last man standing. This victory condition is transferred to your killer when you are vigged or otherwise killed at night. There are several other players with the same victory condition, but who cares, you have to get rid of everyone, including them.
You are not allowed to spread this information on thread.

Town PMs:

Finder:
You can take a single night action.

Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can investigate another player by sending his alt to the mods.
At the end of night, if your action was successful, the mods will tell you whether or not your target is scum.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Guard:
You can take a single night action.

Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can investigate another player by sending his alt to the mods.
The player will be unable to take any and all night actions.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Healer:
You can take a single night action.
Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can heal another player by sending his alt to the mods.
That player will be saved from any and all kills targeting that player. You can not target yourself with this action.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Ambidexter:
You can take a single night action, and one additional night action.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Vigilante:
You can take a single night action.

Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can kill another player by sending his alt to the mods.
You can do this a maximum of three times per game.

Every time you kill someone successfully, you absorb all of that players powers. If they had a single or limited use, these will be refreshed for you.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Bullet Proof:
You can take a single night action.

The first night in which one or more players with the ability to kill target you , you survive. This is considered to be expended after that.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Teacher;

You can take a single night action.

Night action: once per night, as a night action, you can teach another player (not yourself) a single power from the following list. The target will learn who taught him/her. Teaching happens during the Find resolution.
You can teach each ability only once.

Finder; night action: check whether or not a player is scum.
Guard: night action: blocks another player for all of his/ her night actions
Healer: night action: can heal another player (not him/ herself)
Ambidexter: can take one additional night action.
Vigilante: has three night kills. Each kill will absorb all abilities of the target.
Bulletproof: is saved when one or more kills target him/her, but only on the first night this happens.

Your victory condition is to eliminate all scum.

Lynch Tech:

Where the real headache of this high TMDI game starts, is lynching.
You lynch a roled player, and a few people get a watered down, limited use version of the ability.

Here's what happens per role that is being lynched:

Lynch a killer: 3 randomly determined people on the train gain a one-time-vig.

Lynch a finder: the first two people who post after the lynch scene gain a two-time find.

Lynch a healer: everyone on the train gains a single self heal.

Lynch a bulletproof: everyone on the train becomes immune to the first action targeting them that night. If not targeted at all, this immunity carries over until the next day.
AS PER NIGHT 2, ALL PEOPLE ON THE TRAIN GAIN A BP THAT LASTS FOR THE DURATION OF THAT NIGHT ONLY.

Lynch a vig: the hammer gains a two-time vig kill.

Lynch a guard: the person exactly in the middle (or two if there is an even number of votes for lynch) gains a two-use guard.

Lynch an ambidexter: everyone on the train can, once per game on a night of their choice, submit two night actions. They cannot use the same night action twice on that night, however.

Lynch the teacher (this one is fun):
first voter gains a two-time find.
second voter gains a two-time vig.
third voter gains a bulletproof.
fourth voter gains a three-time heal.
fifth voter gains a two time guard.
sixth voter can use one night action twice on a night of his choice.

If there are fewer than six votes required for a lynch, start again at the start of the train.
If the teacher has handed out an ability already, that ability is not gained by the corresponding player on the train.

If a player is lynched who had temporary abilities and has used them, they are still passed on, but with -1 use (to a minimum of 1). so, lynching finders will eventually ensure that everyone is being screened at least once

Example:

Player A is a roleless Inno. He is on day 1 on the lynch train. A Healer is lynched (everyone on the train gains a self heal).

Player A receives from the mods as an addition to his role PM the following text:

Once per game, as a night action, you can heal yourself.

Player A does not use this ability that same night (which is, of course, impossible seeing how we have zero hour nights), but can use it on night 2.

He is however targeted by killer B night 1, who kills player A rather dead.
Player B gains all of player A's abilities, and now has the following role PM:

Emurlahn kills Sorrit (RI)
Anomandaris kills Emurlahn (killer) or Gamelon (guard) if Emur is lynched.
Okaros kills Korlat (RI)
Kessobahn kills Okaros (scum)

Night 2:

Guard:
Gamelon guards korbas

Heal:
Silanah heals ????

Find:
Silanah finds Kessobahn (scum)

With 19, I'm going to go for three batches, but without the Guard of the third, and scum as if there were 3 full batches. That means 13 roled and 6 RIs.

Town will have a difficult tim, they could do with 2 players more :question:

Great! Do I get an explanation of how to "take" night actions? Or is that forthcoming in a second opening-post before we start?

Holy shit! This is awesome!

Too bad I'm not very good at picking out scum early game... I will do my best to destory the scum, however, with my light beam of doom. KAMEHAMEHA!

Questions, though: if I kill a scum killer that theoretically had unlimited killing power, would that give me unlimited killing power? Also, are "player powers" just night actions (or BPs and things like that), or would they also include some theoretical ability to perform multiple night actions? Like, say there's a role out there two can use two actions per night. If I kill him, would I absorb the ability to use two abilities, or just his other abilities?

Hope that was clear.

'yea' or 'nay' will explain a lot of the set-up straight off the bat, and i don't want to give you a lead on players with the same PM who don't ask these questions, hence my answers.

Alright! Thanks. Bed for me, then. I'll be checking into a hotel (4 star so I almost definitely have net access...if not I epic fail and apologize profusely) around an hour after game start (4PM if my maths are right since I'm GMT+8) so expect me to be ultra-active when online and whatnot.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone's alt guesses are fucked up when I fly back west. :question:
