just take one out of that pile.
For instance, it would be easy just not to buy chew.
I've been finding that the more I excercise my drunken will against smokes the stronger it gets. I always just said "fuck it, I can't resist when I'm drunk anyway so why try? Its only a couple smokes anyway".
Since I've been actively trying not to "socially smoke" the ability to resist while drinking has been increasing a lot.

See thats my problem...I chew(dip, whatever) unless I am drinking, then I smoke. So if I quit drinking, I automatically quit smoking, and then I have to stop chewing because thats the whole point of this, quitting nicotine, and so I will need something to keep me from going insane and take my mind off of it, so I am gonna start working out alot.
For 2 days, then I'll get some tobacco....

ah...i see.
Well it is just a habit, and habits can be broken.
Its an association thing, and that's what I was getting at above. I associated getting drunk with having a few smokes for too long...and then my willpower instantly evaporates with my first consumed beer.
Since I've been disassociating smokes from beer its been a lot easier to resist smoking.
Plus think how good you'll feel when you come back after the weekend and can tell all your internet friends how you resisted the urge.

Would it help to know that I caved after about 3 weeks? There ya go, psychological weakness and tragic failure

Ahhh. I remember the good ole college days. Drinking a beer with a dip in whilst smoking.
Good times.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Congrats to those joining the quitting club. Boo to those who have failed. I am still 100% smoke free since quitting, but then, I am all that is man and so have an unfair advantage.

yeah... had a good test last night. Sitting on my porch with a good buzz and 9 out of 11 people in the group were chain-smoking.
I'm becoming a bit of a non-smoking itself rock myself now.

Well one week gone and i'm still a non-smoker.Starting the new job today which should make things easier, it's incredibly difficult not to think about smoking when you've nothing much to distract you, and you use ciggarettes to punctuate an empty day. So new job where i have not built any smoke break habits is a good thing.
Bad news is i keep finding old packs with one or two in them in various jackets, drawers, etc. I must have been some sort of nicotene squirrell or something.
