"Despite the first film already being on DVD, fans across the nation have been calling out to see the film once again on the big screen, and the studio is honoring their request," Summit Entertainment told the Hollywood Reporter.

The movies are based on the best-selling series of young adult novels by Stephanie Meyer.

In addition to bookshelf and box office success, "Twilight" has proved to be big business on the music charts as well. The soundtrack to "New Moon" took the No. 1 spot on the U.S. pop charts Wednesday, according to Billboard, selling 153,000 copies over the last week.

While the tourist boom to Forks from this whole sordid affair should continue for awhile, I doubt that in say 5 years there will be much left. So this town should be looking to capitalize on the fame by developing more permanent institutions that aren't linked specifically to the books.

An evil series, this town will become nothing more than a specific attraction reminiscent of the whole 70s and when that attraction fades it will be as ugly and abandoned as those 70s attraction towns.

Speaking of the 70's, (see DW above post) there was a story line in one of the day time soaps in which a young girl next door, candy striper, every girl type was raped by the troubled, missunderstood cute guy. Luke and Laura. It tures into a kidnapping or they run away together fleeing the law; developes into romance, love story, wedding and marriage, kids I think, etc. It was as big of a hoop-la with news coverage, massive wedding show, everyone talking about whats' going to happen to Luke and Laura on par with Twilight for the day. Is OBS is not new. Still don't get it, but it is sick.

I've promised Mrs Cougar that I'll go and see New Moon with her (she's still sore that I went to see the sickening kid porn of the latest Harry Potter without her) so i thought I'd better watch Twilight to make sure I was up to speed, unfortunately consistent with what I already thought it was painfully bad. What I hadn't realised was quite how horrific the acting in the scenes between Bellend and Edward is, neither is able to adequately represent the teenage emo awkwardness they are seeking to reproduce and consequently they spend all their time looking like they need a crap or are trying to understand string theory.

Sombra, I really would refrain from having hope, seeing as how this series is actually popular, and will continue to be so for the run of the movies.

One of my friends, a self-confessed twimom went to see the advanced showing before the official release. She felt rather out of place when everyone was given temporary tattoos and a locker mirror with Edward on it seeing as she is no longer in highschool.

Otherwise the whole Twilight front has been quiet here for a while. Most of the twitards I know keep their distance.

I need somebody to see this film with! I went to see Twilight on my own in NYC and got sat next to a very excitable 12 year old girl who kept shouting out what was going to happen. I'm not going to watch New Moon alone in my own city, I might bump into someone I know (not that anyone I care about will be going to see New Moon in a non-ironic way, I hasten to add!). I'm going to have to twist my sisters arm, she's my only hope. I am a little concerned about all the teen-flesh though. What if some part of me likes it?

I take enjoy the fact that COD:MW2 money made week 1 completely destroys any twitard or potter movie ever released.

My brother went to see it with some of his friends (make of that what you will). Of course, he reported it to be bad, but here's the kicker; when Edwimp asked Bellface "Will you marry me?" the cinema's collective of teenage girls all went "HHHHHHHHH!"

They fill me with disgust and disdain.

I was expecting the same thing to happen. I mean with all the vampires, the werewolves, divorced parents and native-Americans, since we all know mormons love native-americans.
But that's exactly the problem. This book was written by a woman on the right wing (a mormon). The book preaches abstinence using vampirism as a metaphor for sex. It preaches marriage and "true love". It teaches us that Native-Americans are nothing but thinly veiled beasts. It teaches young girls to submit to their man and that baseball is a good an wholesome family activity.
All things the right wing encourages and wants. So they're actually trying to get more kids to read Twilight than Harry Potter.
That's why the religious aren't going after it.

I went to see New Moon with my brother and sister. I must say I "liked" the first one better...K-Stew is a horrible actress! I'm betting she won't get any better for the third movie. But at least Davis Slade is going to direct it, which gives me some hope.


Why on earth didn't they feature the Volturi more?! Those guys were at least a little evil and ready to f#¤% things up. The horror would've ended there if Sparkle-Meyer hadn't been such a pussy.


Btw, I'm pretty sure Underworld Lucian/ twilight Aro speaks Norwegian, when he's pretending to speak Italian/Latin/whatever...
Things and stuffs...and other important objects.
