Oh there are male twilight fans, they're just not the majority. I guess it's that part of the teenage demographic Meyers is aiming for with her Midnight Sun book.
Because teaching a whole generation of girls that abusive boys are the best and that having no ambition other than marrying that boy wasn't enough she's going to teach boys to be abusive and creepy and how to be glittery idiots.

This thread has resulted in me losing almost all respect for anyone I encounter willingly reading Twilight. Prior to this I had mercifully not known anything about the books. Both a blessing and a curse really.

true. today on the train i saw a girl (probably mid teens) wearing a hooded jumper that said:

after stifling my inital five reactions (Throttle; yell abuse; publicly mock; push from train; slap some sense into - please note, i never DID any of these things, and the total time spent considering each one was probably only fractions of a second)

I realised with great sadness that as I understood what her top meant, i was little better than her.

And i only know that much because of this thread. its like the old 'staring into the abyss' thing really.
thanks to this thread, i;ve gotten a fairly solid knowledge of what the story is about, without ever actually having to subject my eyes to either the book or the film.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the highly-anticipated Twilight-themed mafia game is starting later this week in the mafia sub-forum.
