It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

"Favours" from such people would be very dangerous since they're crazy.
And they have no souls to wager having sold them to Satan when they decided to like Twilight.

I'm not sure who you sell your soul to when you decide to like Twilight, but I don't think Satan wants to have anything to do with said soul. Satan, as I've understood it, is a fairly reasonable fellow. Also, shouldn't vampires be something in his area of expertise? I doubt he's all that thrilled they've turned from harcore killing machines á la Dracula, Blade and Angel into sparkly things with way too much white makeup.

Exactly. Satan wouldn't waste his time with something as sordid as Twilight. I mean, everyone has his limits...

huh.

i did not know about this particular series - engineering student don't exactly go near books as a whole.

it's that bad huh? the way everyone rants about it kinda makes me want to read it, just to see how bad it is.

isn't curiosity a wonderful thing?

No, curiosity has killed more people than the Bible, stupidity and cats combined. Do not even entertain the thought of reading this series. It was literally destroy your soul.

On another note, a list of the worst fantasy books of all-time listed Stephenie Meyer's back catalogue from 1 to 6.

Sweet!

I'll give you fair warning councilor-if you value your life/health/self-esteem/cookies, don't read Twilight. Or you'll end up like this.

i have just pent copious amounts of time reading up on twilight and reading through this thread, properly. the premise of the book is a little..........i can't think of the right word. and also: sparkly vampires?

ugh. maybe i won't read this. my idea of vampires has always been cold, powerful, sophisticated evil. sparkly might ruin it for me.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

No, I've tried. "Fantasy is boring, it's just all elves and dwarves and gay little hobbits!" Even after explanation that it's not LotR - at all - and that SE is so amazing he has someone take on 5 dragons and WIN, she still wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. More's the pity.

You know, when I was an adolescent idiot, Mercedes Lackey is what got me into fantasy. I think the Heralds and Companions (oooh, sparkley white horses that TALK!) are right up the alley of adolescent girls who want to imagine they're special.
