Yep, it's up there with soccer moms, NASCAR dads and the morbidly obese.

Don't worry, Bent, everybody loves their ShamWows. And, if that's not enough...
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I was curious about Twilight so I read them lol ... I know ... I know
They're not bad ... if you take into account that they're aimed at Teen Girls.
I think anything that makes teens read is probably good, even if these aren't masterpieces.
What I thought of the Twilight series as a whole ... it was okay. Not the best and predictable..... but it did keep me entertained for a few weeks lol.
The part that I found kinda funny is that he's 100+ years old ... but finds a 17 year old girl interesting. I'm 29 and I find 17 year old girls annoying after 15 minutes lol.
Lots of the girls I know are reading the Sookie Stackhouse series( Books that True Blood is based on)

Now the BEST part about Twilight .... made me go back into a bookstore ( my friend wanted to buy herself the last book) and that's when I discovered Gardens of the Moon!

Yes, inspiring people to read is an positive outcome in most cases, but these books are setting feminism back sixty years, blatantly promoting conservative and outdated religious values, not to mention endorsing pedophilia, necrophilia, technical bestiality, teen pregnancy, and filling teenagers head with unrealistic expectations in men. Plus the writing is so sub-par its shocking. So I reckon Harry Potter achieved something remarkable in promoting literacy, and Twilight as well to a lesser extent, but there's do we really want people's first introduction into literature to be Twilight, which probably shouldn't have been published in the first place? Besides, realistically a lot of people won't graduate into better quality books after reading Twilight. They'll just read them again, and go back to their lives as they were pre-Twilight.
But I dunno, perhaps I'm being too cereal about the whole thing.

I agree that Twilight isn't a masterpeice .... but I'm also sure a lot of people will go from Twilight to read something in the same gender and move on from there.
I see it as there are many types of readers .... for some they need quality and others just want something easy to read. I'm torn in the middle.
If a girl told me I could act more like Edward .... I'd probably just laugh. ....at her. =p

If you change your posts per page to 40 then it's only 27 pages.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

It's like the messing with your groove thread. We will never run out of things to complain about with Twilight. I suspect this one will continue until all the movies have come out and Twilight has finally faded from humanity's memory and been duly consigned to the dustheap of history.

So I went to see the new vampire movie over the weekend, Daybreakers.
When we ordered our number 1 (Large Pop + Popcorn) they started filling up a commemorative twilight cup. I told them to please give me a different cup, as twilight is the scum of the universe and I refuse to drink anything that came out of a twilight cup. The teenage girl looked like she was about to cry, and radioed her manager, a 30-something, who came over, had the situation explained to him, he then threw away the twilight cup, pulled a normal cup out, and started filling it up. The best part, he looked like he wanted to fire this girl on the spot.
Also their twilight poster outside the theater was defaced. Edward has a penis shooting onto his face and a hitler mustache. I didn't even do it!

blasphemy
You KNOW 15 per page is the only thing allowed.

I see...like the goodkind thread. There is never a lack of things to complain about and therefore no reason to stop complaining.
I will continue to follow my fellow forumites' advice and never even look at the box for this film in the video store.

Just thought I add this.
I found it on failblog, and while it should be marked as win from the point of view of society it is fail on the part of the staff (that surely has twitards in it) for not seeing this.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were in fact no twitards on the staff actually. JB's staff is generally mostly made up of males who know their shit about computers.

Hahahahah! Score one for the movement!

I suspect that will be true. In the name of literary outrage, we will continue to maintain a state of pissed-offedness.
