@Gem So you purposely screwed you own team? Why does that not sit well with me? I'm new to this but I thought part of the whole point of mafia is that it's a team game? I always looked at it more as it didn't matter if you did well as an individual because it was all about the team. Am I wrong here?

@Bwgan Thank you I did do my best, I tried to work as hard as I could! I'm sorry I pushed for your lynch, but it was all that gibberish dear!

Team games are over rated. Sometimes it is fun to go off by your self. Pay no attention to Ment... :)

Honestly, TB I can be loyal (just asK Jump Around :) ), especially when it matters, but in this game I didn't matter much, not until I made my own way. Mafia is just as much about exploiting the rules as following them, and sometimes you bend them (or you try).

HA, 11 people are viewing spoilers. I would call this game a success. @ Ment - I like the symp becomes killers mechanic. If you would stop lynching all of the innos, and hit scum before day 5 then the inno roles might be more imortant. Right?

yes, but the point of roled players is to last to the end--that's the ONLY way a guard role is actually useful --if you have paired killers, for most of the game, guards are useless (in best case) or a liability (WCS)

the symp-turns inno mechanic also puts a lot more pressure on the finders--what's the point of revealing when you found a scum, if one of the symps (who you have no way of discerning from innos) will take the killer's place and kill you? (which is what happened in the game)

The way i thought this was played for most of the game was:

1 killer
symp1
symp 2
symp3
etc..

killer submits NK. symp 1 submits a prov if the killer's lynched, b/c he becomes killer.
Symp 1 becomes killer. symp 2 submits provs, etc.

all symps are told who the new killer is, but at the same time guards are relevant.

Also, yes in the perfect world we'd hit scum early on, but that rarely happens here. Innos (both roled and roleless) die. and it gives us information.

Ruse's behaviour on lynches was giving me scum vibes all game, it's too bad i've had almost 0 time this week to write them out coherently into a case.
and the point of the inno power roles is not to be strong only at point X in the game--they should be useful from start to finish.

I'm sad innos lost but the game was still one of the best scum performances I've seen. They deserved their win.

Well if you guys are having another straight forward game at some point just let me know. I still don't think I'm ready for anything too complicated, as it is this one nearly did my head in! Lol!

I think we're waiting to see if Liseho or alt146 are going to moderate the next one.

But tehol...when do I not talk gibberish? :) :p

And I thought the whole point of mafia was to do your head in...or am I missing something? :)
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

Talking about complicated games, when do I get to play a TMDI 10+ game? Anyone feel like doing some field research? :)

Well yes my dear this is true and funnily enough the minute they revealed who you were I thought fuck! If I had alt guessed you I never would have pushed so hard, because quite frankly you were just being the bwgan I know and love! :p

Maybe mafia is supposed to do your head in! I'm still not sure I'm ready for some of the more complex games though. I need a chance to get the hang of things!

Just read over the spoilers, first 10 pages of spoilers - I was on fire! Last 10 pages or so...not so much :) I think we can sum up where I went wrong quite easily - good instincts, no true follow-up.

Ok I can't help but snicker at the way that Shadow keeps bringing up everybody as suspects. You want to know why he is suspicious and very probably the next lynch. That is why. People who should be ruled out get dragged back into the suspect pool and frankly that has a tendency to look scummy and sympy. It is great for him to make lists like that but if he doesn't want people to think that he might be a symp then he needs to send them to PS.

-Vengeance loves Khell....

You're totally right, Venge, but I have this problem where I just have to let everyone know exactly what I'm thinking, even when I know I'm just digging a deeper hole for myself. Anyway, I always did it with the intention of helping other innos make up their own minds....only they too often decided to go for me - I can understand why, though.

IMO, Khell/Shadow has played one of the best games of the lot. He's highly vocal but has managed to direct at least one lynch while simultaneously not getting lynched or killed. Furthermore, he's usually at least as correct as he is wrong, far more so than most of the players have been.

Hard to not give the pro play to the killers or symps because let's face it, they have only gotten killed from finders, not mistakes, but I'd give Khell a close runner up.

Thanks, PB, I accept runner-up with much gratitude, although I think I was more of a hindrance than a help towards the end, when I was just really trying to stay alive! And thanks for the modding and end scene, that was terrific :p

Overall, team evil deserved the win, they played far more sensibly I think. Cold, brutal, and efficient, just like the scum they are :)

I was so certain you were Fener's partner. Then I saw you were just random inno! That twisted the knife a little. Without you, I think we had a legitimate chance on Fener.

Yep. The innos had got themselves to a point where they didn't believe a word I said. If you'd got me lynched they'd probably have assumed I was a symp. Peanut gave the innos a chance.

Finding symps really screws you up, as a finder. There's nothing you can do about it, really. :)

I was a finder once. I did 3 finds

night 1 - healer
night 2- symp
night 3 - symp

I felt totally useless.
