So I just watched... "Let the Right One In". It's a swedish film, and as could be expected, it was grim and sad. Not exactly a horror film, despite being about vampires, but I recommend it nevertheless. A beautiful, heart-gripping (at least to me) story of friendship, neccesity, loyalty and, in fact, loneliness.
I was going to add to the ribbing by saying that I just watched some old 70s sci-fi flick called "Star Wars: A New Hope." But I've already reached my smartass quota for the month. Also, I've still got some 2009 movies in my to-be-watched pile, so you're not far enough behind me for me to legitimately make fun. If you lived in the U.S., you'd have seen the movie-promotion versions of the novel everywhere... But it's not your fault you're not afflicted with ubiquitous Walmarts.
Anyway, the Swedish version of the movie was better. As per usual, the American adaptation deletes stuff that explains character motivations (e.g. the d-bag dad scenes) and replaces them with police chases. We Americans do love our police chases. I'm convinced American television will one day consist entirely of reality TV and police/legal dramas.
I'm George. George McFly. I'm your density. I mean...your destiny.
