ninja scroll is definatly the best anime movie I've ever seen. I'm just a sucker for that several-small-bosses-that-you-have-to-kill-to-get-to-the-main-boss kinda stories(like "blade of the immortal" and "lonewolf and cub". and ninja scroll tops them all. brilliant!

I just watched Hero (starring Jet Li). Didn't like it nearly as much as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon but it is beautifully filmed (there's a fight sequence in an autumnal forest with leaves swirling which is just brilliant), effects are better, and the story is not quite what I expected (which was a good thing).
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

@DD - Okay the Cell was one of the most boring movies I've ever had to watch. Underworld, on the other hand, had a plot that was interesting and there were some nice twists unlike the usual bad guy kills the good guy's friends at the start of movie, 1.5 hours of filler, and finally big end fight with good guy vs bad guy. And there was barely any hand to hand fighting in this movie which thankfully doesn't make it a complete Blade/Matrix clone.

That movie is just brilliant I reckon, something you wanna watch trice when Drunk/Stoned and when sober.

Yay, someone else who liked that moviePosted Image

I quite liked Matrix 1 though.. Matrix reloaded was just sad, and Matrix revolutions was just bad. Like a long orgy of clichés, i remember planning a new topic for this forum during the last half hour of the movie.... And the answer to all the great questions presented in 1 and 2 was basically answerd with something like: It's magic..

While that movie looks pretty darn good and all, I'm afraid it's not the one to be waiting for.

No my friends, my most anticipated movie has to be Blade: Trinity. Posted Image

"What's with the synthesizers? They never stopped. "Alexander charging into battle" Vangelis synthesizers. "Alexander triumphant" Vangelis synthesizers. "Tragedy befalls Alexander" Vangelis synthesizers. "Alexander angry" Vangelis synthesizers.

I saw the movie at a free screening last night and two hours into the movie, some people started leaving.

Anthony Hopkins' part could have been completed deleted from the movie. The close ups are scary. Does Oliver Stone really have to stick the camera in people's faces so close? You could count all the hairs in Anthony Hopkins' face. Scary, very scary.

Did I mention the synthesizers?"

(an imdb review)

Does NOT sound good at all...

And that was one of the nicer reviews... Posted Image

well well... following the worthless one's accolades, I watched the devil's advocate last night... and I must say, despite the presence of Keanu, the movie didnt suck ass. Nor was it decidedly mediocre like Matrix 1. In fact, it was almost really good. (which I suppose qualifies as normal "good")

especially since Pacino was cast as Satan.

It didnt feel too long either, even if it ran 2 and a half hours.

/Rant on

"Conquer your fear and I promise you you will conquer death" *shudder* *shudder again* I mean, really... that line made me groan, a groan only surpassed by the groan elicited by the cheering which followed. Posted Image

And wasnt Alexander gay? Like seriously... But I dont want to watch movies about homosexuals, sorry, but no. So that can be sacrificed away, especially if it means hot women. Posted Image

And the phalangites at Issus. Since when did they move around in such an open pell mell formation??

And why does he have a slightly elongated xiphos? greek cavalry used a real sword just like everyone else.

Ah...but at least they had the persian immortals kneeling... which was good.

< was impressed....marginally.

And the elephant... fie on thine elephant! FIE ON THEE! That elephant was OBVIOUSLY from africa, not india. Like, couldnt they guess that we would be able to tell the difference between a Subcontinental Elephant and a Sub-Saharan elephant? DUh! Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

/rant off

Anti-history aside, it looks to be a kick ass movie.

I used to love Excalibur. It is still visually stunning, but it is such a dreary movie and the novelty of the Arthurian legend is no longer enough to captivate me.

The acting style and character interaction in Excalibur is realistic but monotous and lacking in subtlety. Excalibur is definately a director's movie and the director paints in broad strokes. I wish Excalibur had more variety instead of tail to tail moments of melodrama.

Is Excalibur a good movie? Sure. Fun? No way, especially on repeat viewings.

The Producers is by far Brook's best movie.

I just seen Shrek 2, and I thought it was rather hilarious. The only downside to the movie was I had one of the most high-pitched, obnoxious guys sitting behind me the whole time, who practically was yelling whenever he laughed. As some may know, I've been rather unbalanced lately due to certain issues, and if it hadn't been for the fact that my family was there (sister's birthday) I would have given the small bastard a reason to yell.

Bah....

A.I. was a fantastic movie, except the last 20 minutes or so was just awful, terrible, and stupid. they shouldve ended it when he was stuck in the sub staring at blue fairy. but thats what u get when speilberg takes over from kubrick

watched troy again, i love this movie so screw you all Posted Image

also watched True Lies, great arnie movie, and "The 300 Spartans", great old timey historical epic about the battle of Thermopylae

Goldie Hawn is a super annoying woman. Her daugher Kate Hudson is a total hottie, though! Posted Image Posted Image
