Watched both Rush Hour films last night. I love Jackie Chan :D

Haha, I'm assuming you have successfully blanked out the absolute travesty that was Rush Hour 3. I actually managed to do that myself once. We decided to watch it... and then about 30 or 40 minutes through we got to this one part that was so bad we realised we had tried to watch the film before and given up at exactly the same point. Unfortunately I haven't been able to re-wipe my memory of it a second time.

If anyone's wondering, it was the Jackie + Fat Chris Ticker vs the tallest man in the world. There was zero reason for the fight, and it was the definition of ridiculous.

I loved that fight. All the Rush Hour films are silly over the top buddy cop films. I don't know how you can tell them apart.

Easy - the first two are funny. The third is so far in the opposite direction I'm embarrassed for those who think it is funny.

what yellow said.

recently watched:

The Goods
Pretty funny film, Jeremy Piven is perfect for the role, and the other guys fit in pretty well. Ferrells Cameo was funny, him being himself basically for a few minutes.
Normally don't think Kathryn Hahn is hot, but there was something deliciously filthy about her in this film.
Biggest laugh comes within a few minutes, its a class opening.
13 second hand cars out of 17

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.
Big fan of the Tucker Max stories, so was looking forward to this.
Wasn't disapointed per se, funny film, enough Max lines in it to keep me happy.
"Honey, if I wanted to cut you deep, I'd need a battle axe and a running start"

I actually found her more hot in Basterds. She was speaking her own language, so there was more acting, less cardboard. Plus what can I say. Felt and leiderhosen. Mmmmmmmm.

Just got back from Iron Man 2. Really enjoyed it because I didn't go expecting a deep plot, real life characters and situations, with complex narrative. I went expecting lots of quirky banter, lots of fun people and scenes, and cool action/blowing stuff up scenes. Which is exactly what it delivered. Johansson was slamming hot in this role (more so than normal) and I thought Mickey Rourke was a good character too.
I will agree that the ending seemed a bit rushed, and that it wasn't keeping in line with the rest of the film but overall a thoroughly enjoyable night out.

Since the release of Ironman 2 has dicked with the schedule for Centurion, I went to see it. It's very good. Who'd have thought Downey Jr could be out OTT'ed by someone! Sam Rockwell is the best thing in it. Loved the electric whips, homemade Small Hadron Collider, Hammeroids and Avengers set up.

I've finally figured it out.

My housemate was actually adopted, thats why hes not sane like the rest of his family.
I also know who his brother is.

Apt, thats right, our resident my little pony enthusiast has a long lost brother.
its the only explanation for his fucking abysmal taste in movies.
We're stuck watching transformers 2 again which he maintains is "some show hi, lethal hi!!"

what a wank film

It's kind of funny how Hades is always portrayed as the bad guy by Hollywood. Really, if there was a bad guy among the greek gods it would be Poseidon.

Aye, Hades wasn't too bad a sort, but God of Death equates bad guy in just about every story.
As for Poseidon: really? Apart from his hatred for Odysseus, which, as a blood feud, was actually justified, he wasn't that bad a guy.
I guess all in all, the main bad guy would be Zeus himself for pissing off his wife into fits of rage and murder by sticking his dick (whether or not after transforming himself into an animal first) up the orifices of just about every young morsel (whether or not transformed into an animal first) he came across.

Herodotos, iirc, even accepts the kidnapping of Helena by Paris as the Asians getting even for the abduction of Europa by Zeus, which leads to the sacking of Troy, which makes the invasion by the Persians just another get-even thingie in his book (which is actually a shitload of hubris as the Persians couldn't care less about Greek mythology :D).

oh come on, it is the one movie where Megan Fox is a better actor than the main lead. That alone makes it worthwhile, because it is unique.

And then to imagine that Shia LeBoeuf is going to star in Wall Street 2 :D /cries.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is a perfect movie. It's certainly not something I think someone like Tiste would be a fan of, but jeeeeeeebus, this movie's good. Career performances from just about everyone involved, and the logic of the story comes back upon itself so well that I was impressed. Five out of five for me.

1) There's no Premier League in it. Or musicals.

2)If you've seen a Herzog film before, like Rescue Dawn or Grizzly Man, you can expect more of the Herzog weirdness. It's my gut feeling that you won't be a huge fan of that weirdness - the lizards and the soul dance kind of stuff - if you're not anticipating it. But I am pretty confident that you know what to expect of movies and how to rate them accordingly. So, go into it expecting moments of true bizarreness and trust Herzog in making the threads come together into a coherent story.

I think I'm actually going to see Iron Man off your recommendation, Tiste. I don't have high expectations for it, which is why the first one was so pleasantly surprising.
